As the fourth book I’ve read from her, this novel stands out for its lighter tone and infectious charm, while still delivering the emotional depth and realism that has become her signature.

What sets this story apart is its relatability — the characters feel grounded, the dialogue rings true, and the challenges of modern dating are explored with both honesty and humor. Dowling-Eversly has an undeniable talent for capturing the emotional complexity of relationships while keeping the pace lively and the tone fun.
