Resumen del Editor

Using an international framework, Sowell analyzes how much a racial group’s economic fate is determined by the surrounding society and how much by internal patterns that follow that same group around the world.

True

Even though over 35 years old the substance rings true. Required reading to understand todays political non-leaders.

Classic Sowell, Poor Recording

This is a classic, brilliant Sowell analysis marred by a soporific narrator and poor audio quality.

Good info, needs better delivery.

A little heavy to get through. May have been easier to read the hard copy. The narration could use a little more inflection and emotion. Good information though.

Great book, horrible audio

Requires a narration do-over. Its making me focus less on the book and more to the horrible audio quality. I feel I want at least half my money back.

eye opening

a wonderful survey of races and cultures often left out of the discussion on race and races and cultures over represented in the discussion in an objective light with critical evaluation of commonly misunderstood metrics.

Fantastic book

An astonishingly comprehensive and insightful book on the significance of race, culture and politics in producing economic benefits for all.

Excellent work; less-than-excellent audio

This is another worthwhile work by Thomas Sowell, and it is well-narrated in this audiobook.

However, the quality of the recording itself is not very high; throughout it sounds muffled, and occasionally plosives (p sound, t sound, etc.) result in a brief gap in the audio itself.
Due to this, you may find yourself struggling to actually hear this work.

Incredibly Informative Read

Thomas Sowell is an incredibly thorough researcher and writer, bringing to bear an arsenal of astonishing facts about the economics, sociology, geography, and economics. This work by Sowell, creates a clear picture of the intricacies of the successes and downfalls of cultures and societies all of the world. He demonstrates that there are no clear cut answers but patterns throughout history that should be observed, remembered, and respected. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to increase their knowledge of world history and economic power of human capital.

Lots of historical and cultural references.

The narrator for this title was fine but there seemed to be a bit of background noise. The book seemed to focus more on cultural information than economics and politics. I'm a big fan of Thomas soul. I've read several of his books and this I have added to my collection.

Must read

This is a masterpiece that presents a well-researched and compelling argument for how economics and politics shape the discourse around race. Sowell's insights into the intersection of race and economics are eye-opening and offer a fresh perspective on an often-contentious topic. His writing style is engaging, and his arguments are backed up by data and historical examples. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the complex relationship between race, economics, and politics.

Only feedback is the narration is terrible. This book deserves better.
