The Tye Wakins Series of books attempt to portray this danger. The stories center on Tye, who is Chief of Scouts at Clark in 1868. He is continually putting himself at risk trying to protect the homesteaders living in the area as well as keeping the troops he scouts for out of harm's way.

The Desperate trail
This is a great series. This book is about Tye Watkins an army scout. This is becoming one of my favorite series. These books is well worth the money or a credit. There is plenty of excitement and adventure. Tye is one tough scout. And very smart. I highly recommend this whole series. I also recommend starting at book one to get even more enjoyment out of it. Rusty nelson does an excellent job narrating this book. He does the whole series. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
