Membership in The Dead Mom's Club

Two months plus two days ago I became a member of this club...also due to pancreatic cancer. A very supportive friend found this book for me. She said, "She's a comic. I think her style and perspective might work for you, esp as an initial foray. I hope so". She couldn't have been more right. I got the book in audio, I love it. It hit every emotion and thought I am experiencing. I thought this would help me get through the grief faster, but what I found most valuable is it has validated some of the, what I thought were, inappropriate or unusual thoughts and reactions I'd had. Thank you, and your mom, for this poignant yet comforting memoir, "yo go girl"!

She’s my kind of girl!

I loved this book! It hit home with me since my mom passed from Pancreatic Cancer January 1, 2021. She described exactly how I feel now and in such a way that I am forwarding it to my hubby so he can understand how I feel with the highs and lows. Thanks for writing this!!!!

Great Book!

This is definitely one of the best books I have listened to since my mother's passing. It makes me feel like I am not alone in my grief.

Amazing book

My mom passed July 24th 2018 and this book was very relatable to me... It was great to be able to connect with someone's experience.

Would be 5 stars but really fowl language

In the audiobook preview it stops just before she tells you it’s going to have fowl language. Also have a good bit of reference to the paranormal. If you are not into those things it’s probably better to get the book in writing so you can look over of skip past them. It’s quite jarring to listen to and hard to know how far to skip ahead. Other than that it’s incredibly relatable especially if your mom died of Cancer. It will help you cry.

Wow

I lost my mom in April 2020 to lung cancer which spread to her liver and I felt like this was written for me. I related to everything she wrote. I would highly recommend this.

Cry, Laugh, Repeat

Thank you for this book. I miss her everyday. Two years gone and I still have her number in my phone. I needed to read this book. To have someone acknowledge and understand my loss was the greatest gift. I fully recommend this to all the orphaned mommy's girls and boys. I'm 48 and I still feel lost without her.
