Resumen del Editor

The Summer of Chaos has ended. Ansalon’s nightmare has only just begun.

The gods have departed the world, heralding a new Age of Mortals. But before the dust of war can settle, vast shadows cover the land. Dragons have come to Ansalon, larger and more powerful than any ever seen, and they will wreak havoc on nations still trembling from war. As the lands themselves begin to change under the dire magic of the new dragon overlords, new heroes arise to lead the fight for freedom.

Excellent story and amazing narration!!

Josh Clark's narration of Dragonlance is the best you'll find on Audible and he truly delivers! Each character has a distinctive voice and he thankfully pronounces the names correctly. I highly recommend this trilogy. I truck almost everyday and his narration made my trips from Ohio to Tennessee seem too short as I needed more time to listen.

The great old tales

The dragonlance books are well written and draw wonderful images in your mind. We need more of these tales.

Good.

This is a fun listen and you can tell Jean Rabe put a lot of enthusiasm into bringing in the new age. However there are a few flaws. Too much creative freedom was given to the author with major characters. (Some retcons actually have to and do happening there next book as they would messed with War of Souls).

narrator is bad

annoying narrator nearly ruins a decent book. his voices and characters are terrible. he does a redneck kender.

Shallow and inaccurate

Performance was still lack luster at best. Lots of mispronounciations. And Rabe still can't grasp the world of krynn

Decent Story and Performance

This was very much like listening to a very well written Dragonlance campaign. There were times that Josh Clark's dragon voices were a bit over the top, but he brought depth to the characters. I give this book a solid A-

Much like it's predecessor

Much like the previous book, there are a few inaccuracies and some clunky dialogue, but all in all it's a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.

I would add, though, that the narrator really annoys me. A lot of his voices are so good, but Malys sounding like a moaning of woman and the kender having southern accents drives me nuts!

TERRIBLE Dragon voices

Good story. The Reader really made an odd choice for the Dragon voices. It's honestly almost a deal breaker. WHY?????

Boring, but War of Souls Trilogy is based on it...

The War of Souls Trilogy (a Good Trilogy) has No Context without it. This 5th Age Trilogy - Jean Rabe's writing is awful! The descriptive sections are PAINFULL! It's almost like "The sky was blue. The sand was brown There were some sounds. A table was in the kitchen." What's worse though is that the beginning of each chapter goes on like that for FIFTEEN MINUTES! I suggest you Fast Forward past it to the dialogue! Then at the end of the chapter, you have the action phases which aren't exciting, or dramatic. It would be easier to listen to if each chapter ended right after the dialogue saying "Then they did as they planned and moved on." If you skip this 5th Age trilogy though and dive into the War of Souls, you'll be confused, wondering "Why are the Knights of Takhisis called the Knights of Neraka?" Why are there so few dragons? Who are these new dragons? Why was Palin imprisoned by these Neraka Knights? Should I even finish this War of Souls Trilogy with all of this lack of context? It's hard to even care about the characters in The War of Souls without the 5th Age context! So it's better to LISTEN TO this 5h Age Trilogy before reading The . I tried to read it in paperback and kept falling asleep!
