Resumen del Editor

In an age of tyranny, one evil rises above all others. The Summer of Chaos swept its devastation across the world of Krynn. In its wake, foul dragon overlords of immeasurable power conquered Ansalon and remade the lands in their own image. But Malystryx, the greatest and most evil of all the dragons, is no longer content with ruling her domain. She wants to ascend to godhood, and only one band of stalwart heroes stands in her way.

narrator is odd

The story is good but the narration is annoying. The long drawn out speech of the dragons is terrible.

Strong close

As with the previous two, I have mixed feelings about the narrator. Some of his voices are fantastic while others annoy me to no end.

Also like the previous two, it's a strong story with only a few inaccurate facts.

My biggest complaint is that I feel there is just too much going on in these books for how short they are. I really think they should have been between 1.5 and twice the length they were to give appropriate time and attention to everything going on.

Even with that in consideration though, I still highly recommend the series. Really sets the stage for later events.

Ends the trilogy on a positive note

The trilogy started out incredibly shakey, with poor pacing and about average storytelling. But it gradually got better as time went on, at first I could barely even remember everyone's names. As time went on the group developed into better characters, and I was thoroughly invested in Khellendros and Malystrix's ambitions.

This trilogy certainly doesn't deserve its mass hate, but it's not amazing either. Still, the positives do it enough justice that I am eager for the War of the Souls trilogy.

The narrator was decent barring the occasional mispronounciation of names, and the accent he gave Kenders.

not as bad as others say

the reading was done expertly. absolutely great job. the story was decent too albiet with some bland character development. not sure why but I just didn't fall in love with any of the characters or really feel connected to them. might have been too much story for character development.

annoying narrator nearly ruins a decent book. his voices and characters are terrible. he does a redneck kender.

nothing accomplished

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The first two books were okay - thinking well the didn't really get much done in the first two books other than grab a bunch of magical items and lose them. No enemies were really defeated. But I thought at least the last book will tie everything up. But no - at the end nothing changed - the Heros had no chance at actually doing anything and basically just made the dragons angry - then the heros walk away at the end giving themselves a pat on the back like they won - I don't know which books will actually solve things one way or the other but you can skip these 3 and go to those books instead.

Complete nose dive!

What an incomplete/rushed effort to finish this series. :( The first two books had amazing promise of an epic storyline... This book started off well where the 2nd ended... and that's all I can say that was positive. It seemed as though the author just ran out of time or creativity...and mailed it in. Sad, because I felt this had potential to rival Chronicles and Legends. Why bother to develop characters just to give them an unknown/anonymous fate, regardless of what series follows. This is not how you close out a trilogy.

The reader/narrator...I tolerated through the first two books because of great story...I couldn't any longer. Absolutely horrible voices for dragons and kender. Never thought I would envision mighty dragons as geriatric douche bags...the moaning and groaning voices were better suited for Gargamel. The hillbilly kender...wow, I firmly expected the reader to throw in a "Roll Tide!" each time he spoke for Blister. Somehow I think he screwed around intentionally...changing the most known words and pronunciations in the DL saga to something just terrible. Magius sounded like Muh-gina. Huma sounded like Hooma, and Ariakan....yeah, you get the idea. Do the producers of these audiobooks not do any type of screening? While authors and stories be hit and miss...no excuse for the the readers. That being said...I live the Dragonlance universe! This would be a better read than listen.
