A continuation of the story

It nice to hear about mediation from a cat. It was nice to see everything from HHC prospective. We follow HHC as she goes through her life. We get some insight into the life of HHC through her past lives and what is happening in her current one. Plus we get to see all the same characters as they go through their lives. We get to see how everyone is learning and growing. We get to see how anger channeled by someone comes back to bite them. We see how being present keeps one calm to solve an issue.

Fun and Uplifting !

I have now read all of the books in the Dalai Lama’s Cat series. I have loved them all ! The stories are uplifting and sometimes humorous. I have come to know and love the characters while learning some of the basics of Buddhist philosophy. If somehow David Michie was able to continue the series I would be delighted. I have recommended the books to a number of friends and will continue to do so.

The Power of Meow, book 3 in a fun teaching series

Hopefully you have started with book 1 and also read book 2 of this series. The story line is excellent because the author is a keen observer of felines and humans, and canines too.

The life lessons that are included within the story are brilliant choices and there was one lesson in one of the 3 books that resulted in instant recognition and some reflection on my interactions with people and poor choices I have made - and recognition may help me behave better in the future.

There are many threads woven into the saga, and the one about reincarnation and the same people and animals incarnating into subsequent lifetimes was fascinating.

The bonus, of course, is the gentle teaching about meditation and its benefits, and the practical teaching of meditation too.

Beautifully narrated, professionally produced, a real pleasure to listen to.

I am thankful to have found these books. I now know it wasn't by chanch. I am hopeful there will be others to follow. Thankful for David Michie for his inspiration for all who read and follow the practice from HHC! My sister is now reading The Dalia Lama's Cat.
My life is getting better and enriched. I will read these books over and over.

Fourth Time Through — Still Wonderful!

Going back through the entire series once again. I have all of The Dalai Lama’s Cat books both in print as well as in audio. This makes the fourth time I’ve listened. I am always struck by the fact that each time, different aspects meet needs and bring comfort and elucidation in my life just as it’s needed!
I have limitless gratitude to the author, David Michie.

Read by the author, his just-right narration perfectly evokes the humor, wisdom, depth and immediacy of The Power of Meow — as it does for each of The Dalai Lama’s Cat offerings.

Love these books!

This series has been so enjoyable! Relaxing and full of important Buddhist insights, but also always a lighthearted feel-good read. I love the mediation at the end (I liked the multiple meditations in the last book too, but there were almost too many different ones). I love the main character and I feel like these books always have important messages that I need to hear to this point in my life.

I like the author/narrator’s voice too - it’s very relaxing - even though it doesn’t really make sense to have a male narrator when the story is told from the perspective of a female cat.

Side note: I was listening to this book on Christmas Eve while driving home during bad winter weather. My car lost traction at one point and started to fishtail one way and then the other. Normally, I would have panicked at the loss of control and probably overcorrected, but I was relaxed and being mindful because of the story and was able to relax and react in a way that prevented the situation from becoming an accident. I’m very, very thankful that this is what I was listening to - I really believe that it’s why I got home safely.

I just adore this series. HHC is THE most noble of creatures.
The meditation instructions at the end are a real treat.
