Resumen del Editor

Young Marjorie Clune's best asset is her greatest misfortune: a pair of exquisite legs. They attract the perfect heel, a self-professed movie promoter named Frank Patton, whose scam seems even more flawless than Marjorie's lissome limbs. When the hype clears, the local chamber of commerce is many dollars poorer, Marjorie's been hung out to dry - and Patton's been found with the knife of Marjorie's lover implanted in his chest....But will a single cunning lie her lawyer, Perry Mason, tells catch a killer and free her from a nightmare of accusation?

Love Perry Mason books

Alexander Cendese does a marvelous job narrating the Perry Mason Series and I hope the balance of the series will soon be re-released with him as the narrator. No one else can replace him after listening to him on the 50 or so audio books that were available. The Lucky Legs book is another must read/listen book in the series. I wish I'd discovered the book series a year or so ago, I would then have purchased all 84 or more books in the series!!! I listen to the 50 some books I do have from book 1 on through-- in order (of the ones I have), and then by the time I get through the 50 books I can start over, there is always something you miss and can pick up on the 2nd/3rd time around. haha. I love the TV series, but the books narrated by Alexander Cendese are so very much better!!!

Mason Puts Himself In Trouble With The Law

Mason Puts Himself In Trouble With The Law. Who did the crime, and why did Mason look like he was covering it up. I am really enjoying the language and social ideas of the 1930's from books written during the period.

Another great story with lots of twists and turns!

I've only begun the series, and it's my favorite so far. Perry Mason gets himself in very deep with this one!

Brilliant story telling

Erle Stanley Gardner I really only knew his name from Perry Mason The classic TV show as the creator of this Character. I have always wanted to read these books however as with life you can't always fit in every book you would like. Thankfully I saw these on Audible and I have truly enjoyed these stories. So many books in this series which I love. This story was so well written and so well done. The Narration was incredible. If you love the classic Perry Mason TV show I think you'll really enjoy this book. I highly recommend it.

A window into 1937

The book is a window into 1937 with speakeasies, cars with sideboards and cranks and engines that had to be kept warm if you might need to go somewhere in a hurry, and mail planes you could book a seat on. It’s also one of the few Perry Mason novels with no courtroom action. It was fun though and drew me along. The narrator distinguished all the characters well - he did some great voices - except for the women. I’m afraid his rendition of Della Street took some getting used to.

Which three pairs of lucky legs committed the murder of not?

An excellent reading of this mystery, one of the few cases which does not end up in a courtroom. Plenty of hard hitting drama , action, clues and red herrings to keep you guessing at who is nabbed for murder for killing a slim bucket of a human being.

What a throwback!

I've always loved the Perry Mason books and TV Shows, so it's more or less a given that I'm going to like the audiobooks. Still, this was great. The narrator has the perfect voice for a mystery in the age of speakeasys. Having such a voice is a bit jarring when the women speak, but you get used to that pretty quickly. It was great to hear and picture the era - for example, where you realize that getting tagged - getting a parking ticket - actually meant that a tag was put onto your steering wheel with a piece of string. The phones are still with the operators sitting at a switchboard and smoking seems nearly omnipresent. All in all a treat to listen to, not just for the story but for experiencing the age. Very enjoyable.
