Resumen del Editor

A confounding case in the present. A precipitous puzzle from the past...

Inspector David Graham knows all about history. After moving to the island of Jersey to recover from a tragic loss, he has done his best to leave painful memories behind. But sometimes it is not so easy to forget...

When Mia, a promising young actress, turns up dead beneath the jagged cliffs known as Sampson’s Leap, suicide seems the obvious answer. But after Inspector Graham interviews the victim’s conniving clan of associates, he’s not so sure.

Mia's mysterious death also shines a light on a far older case... The murder of three women, nearly two centuries ago. New evidence suggests that investigative rigour may not have been applied.

Can the dogged inspector uncover the truth of Mia’s fate? Can a historical injustice be laid to rest? And can Graham finally reveal the secrets hiding in his own heart to the woman who knows him best...?

Mystery fans will love The Case of Sampson’s Leap. This deliciously clever whodunnit is filled with fiendish puzzles, tantalising twists, and quirky characters you'll grow to love. This is the eighth book in this best-selling traditional British detective mystery series with a modern twist.

Absolutely fabulous!

Absolutely fabulous! The audiobooks in this series are always good, but this one is exceptional. The body of a young actress is found on a rocky beach beneath a cliff, shortly before a festival celebrating the location is to be held. Inspector Graham and his team must untangle a web of lies and alibis to solve the case. This is storytelling at its best, with complex characters and an intriguing plot. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and am looking forward to the next one. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

Very Complicated Cases

I was entertained by book 8 of the "Inspector David Graham Mysteries". I've liked the whole series, and this one was even more complicated than all the rest of them so far. Mia's body was found at the base of "Sampson's Leap" and Inspector Graham had to determine whether it was suicide or murder. There were two cases featured in this book: one was historical, and the other was present day, but both cases were joined as the events occurred near "Sampson's Leap". I liked the twisty nature of the clues that were used to help solve the mysteries. I have become invested in the characters populating this series. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Matt Jamie's narration was entertaining. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
