I loved this...

Captured my interest, hooked from chapter one. I listened to this while decorating the Christmas tree and it was easy to follow while I was busy with lots of other things. Excellent character development. Kiersten White introduced endearing new characters and shined her new creative light on some of our favorite old ones. This isn’t really a type of book I would normally choose except that I usually enjoy anything read by Elizabeth Knowelden, which is why I did....so glad I did. Can’t wait for the next book in the trilogy!

Kirsten White has done it again. The page turner with twists and turns you've been looking for.

Guinevere Grows Into Her Own

Kirsten White's 2nd book in her Arthurian series does not disappoint as the timid Guinevere matures along with her magics. The tale does not drag as it races towards Guinevere's sacrifice in her attempt to save Camelot from the Dark Queen.

THE ENDING… OMG

The story did kinda drag at the beginning/middle but the sister coming in was a thrilling surprise! Mordred is still my favorite character and no one can steer me differently 😂😂
Keep going with this one, the ending was worth it!

I don’t think I’ve ever given a 5-star review. I think that this trilogy is Y/A, but it is dimensional and layered and sophisticated. White writes beautifully. The premise is the strength of the women in Camelot, and the strength that they find when they help each other. The narration was perfect. I will miss the characters, who are developed skillfully. I really loved this series.

ALREADY WAITING FOR THE THIRD BOOK!

Ahhh I’m already waiting for the 3rd book to come out. WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?!

I love the spin on the Arthurian legends and characters.

And I really, really love Mordred. (And someone else needs to also admit to herself that she loves him too and say it out loud.) Seriously though.. all the parts with him in this book made me cry lol.

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to continue listening to the narrator after a few minutes into the first book.. but after a few chapters it seemed like she worked out her reading style, and Elizabeth Knowelden has become one of my favorite narrators.
She has a very soothing voice lol. I love that she doesn’t try to go over the top with extra deep voices for men. I also love that her women’s character voices are different from her story narration voice. She’s great with all the different inflections and nuances needed for the writing style in this book.

A new perspective on a timeless classic!

So far this trilogy has been refreshingly different from the normal "King Arthur" and "Merlin" storylines! I love how this version of the fairytale is based on one of the well-known female characters and is written as if it is her story and is being told from her perspective, but still has the classic fairytale weaved into the story. It's great that the focus is on Geneviere and yet, overall it is still standing true (albeit somewhat loosely) to the original. I am looking forward to listening to the third book soon and I have my fingers crossed it is going to continue to be just as intriguing as the two books I've already listened to.


I ALSO WANT TO GIVE PROPS TO THE NARRATOR BECAUSE SHE IS WONDERFUL! SHE SOUNDS AS THOUGH THIS IS TRULY HER STORY SHE IS TELLING AND SHE DOES A GREAT JOB WITH THE CHARACTERS VOICES. SHE IS ABLE TO BRING THE CHARACTERS TO LIFE INSTEAD OF SOUNDING LIKE A MONOTONE ROBOT.
