Acerca de esta escucha
The fog, the mystery, the intrigue of 19th Century London, the incomparable team of Holmes and Watson, the brilliant deductions, the twisting plots, and the unimagined solutions—all these elements are accounted for in The Business of Baker Street, a collection of five new Sherlock Holmes stories. Each tribute tale respects the renowned style of Arthur Conan Doyle, and every story lures the listener into the entrancing world of Sherlock Holmes.
An innocent bank clerk driven to desperation by an ominous death threat, a viciously cruel and calculating barrister, a brilliant but hopelessly drug-addicted scientist, and a heartless woman obsessed with building a personal fortune, and a man torn between the loyalties of his past and the duties of his present— all these characters move across the Baker Street stage, finding peace, or prison, or death. These are new classic Holmes's tales told with abiding respect for the grand originals that enthralled readers for more than a century.
What price a few hours of genuine escape? Enjoy the licit pleasures of the pages and descend into spheres of criminal intrigues, human failings, poignant ironies, and Sherlockian justice.

For all we know, or think we know, about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, what we don’t know is far, far greater. In the duo’s first case, A Study in Scarlet, we learn that Holmes and Watson met on January 1st, 1881, and subsequently moved into an apartment together at 221b Baker Street. Their first case officially began on March 4th of that year, and it is argued that “The Adventure of the Resident Patient” possibly took place in October of 1881, depending on which version of the story you read. But what happened during the rest of 1881? Or all of 1882?

Increasing numbers of crime shows and movies have featured detectives on the autism spectrum. Portrayals of such characters have been met with acclaim and criticism. Is the entertainment industry celebrating neurodiversity or is it reinforcing stereotypes? In The Autistic Sleuth, over two dozen characters appearing in filmed productions from around the globe will be analyzed to explore how film and television present atypical minds through some of the world's most popular detectives.

When Sherlock Holmes crosses paths with a small black cat, he rescues it from a vicious attack. He takes it home, because 221B Baker Street has become a sad and lonely place of late. John Watson recently abandoned him for some buxom cleavage, rouged lips and bouncy ringlets. In other words, a wife, of all things.

On the eve of Newgate Prison's demolition, Watson spies Holmes leaving a public sale of the prison's miscellany in the company of a beautiful stranger, and in possession of an unusual trophy–the death mask of a woman who, more than 20 years earlier, had been executed for the murder of her three children. Holmes agrees to satisfy Watson's curiosity about the memento by recounting the decades-old history of its subject.

Historia
Sherlock Holmes, the best-known detective (sorry, consulting detective) on Earth, celebrates his 160th birthday on January 6, 2014. As a tribute to his genius, and to mark the occasion, The Holmes Sutra is presented (by a crazed fan) as: a compilation of 160 mantras (aphorisms/slogans/sayings - call them what you will) - some original, some canonical, some based on various print/media adaptations - that are aimed to make Sherlock Holmes (and his fans) smile and a test of the readers' Holmes Mania Quotient (HMQ).

A winner indeed
While the three reviews preceding mine were, like mine will be, marked as the reviewer having received this audiobook for free. Did that contribute to the five star reviews from all four of us? I don’t think so because these stories and this performance were definitely, definitely worthy of that score. Easy to listen to and satisfying in their conclusions. Bravo!

Sherlock and Watson
The Business of Baker Street by William P. DeFeo is an excellent stories about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Each story is a tribute to Arthur Conan Doyle style. Michael Langan did an excellent job with the narration. The story is interesting, entertaining, mysterious, enjoyable, engaging and fun. If you like Sherlock Holmes and Doc. Watson then you will like this. It may be a traditional detective story but there is always a flare when it comes to Sherlock. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Five New Stories
I was provided a copy of this audiobook at no cost for review purposes courtesy of MX Publishing.
This book was split into five short stories. I really enjoyed the writing style of this collection, and the way Holmes and Watson are portrayed. I particularly appreciated the moments when Watson has maybe more of a backbone than other writers might have given him in the same situations! And I live for the moments when Holmes faces down someone insulting him without breaking a sweat.
I also laughed out loud at the moment when Holmes has once again deduced something impossible about Watson, and instead of jumping into his usual “Holmes, however, did you know?!” routine, Watson tries to play it cool, and Holmes absolutely demolishes him. “It was a great day for the English theatre when you decided to become a doctor rather than pursue the thespian arts, Watson. Had you not done so, you and your lovely bride would surely have lived a life of destitution.” I laughed out loud! That was some of the funniest Holmes I've read in a while.
I do have to say, I was surprised that one of the villains was a femcel, but it worked for the story, so I have no criticisms there. And I appreciated the variety of content present between the five stories, some moments light hearted and others sobering and introspective.
Lastly, the narrator for the audiobook was very good! I would happily read/listen to more from this author.
