Jennie Grant has always wished to be a healer, but when her clan becomes involved in the violence that has broken out across the Highlands, it shakes her belief in herself. She no longer knows if she can work in a trade where life and death exist in such a fine balance. Desperate to clear her head and spend some time away from the wounded men who crowd the sickroom in the Grant keep, she travels to Lochluin Abbey for sanctuary. But even there, she cannot escape her calling. The abbey sits on the land of the Cameron clan, and when the new chieftain is injured in battle, Jennie is the only person capable of saving him.
Though Aedan Cameron would sooner spend his life as a scholar, reading, and watching the stars than assume a leadership role in his clan, his father's untimely death forces his hand. To make matters worse, he's immediately called upon to ride into battle to protect his land and his people. But everything changes for Aedan when a beautiful girl with a mind as curious as his own heals him. Suddenly, he realizes he's capable of becoming the leader his father wanted him to be while still pursuing the stars. Aedan recognizes his soul mate in Jennie, but can their love survive the mysterious threat to his land?

I enjoy series books and this series is almost the best I've ever read.
Narrator Paul Woodson's voice gives you the impression that he loves these stories too and brings each character to life with his interpretation of what they sound like and their own unique personality.
another swoon worthy story

What made the experience of listening to The Brightest Star in the Highlands: Jennie and Aedan the most enjoyable?
I would recommend not only this book, but the entire series to all my friends. Paul Woodson always does a magnificent job of bringing the characters to life through his ability and range to suit the voices to the characters.Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't have just one favorite character in this series, however I can't wait to hear the audio of Loki's story.Wonderful book, wonderful audio!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Brightest Star in the Highlands: Jennie and Aedan to be better than the print version?
Haven't read the print versionWhat other book might you compare The Brightest Star in the Highlands: Jennie and Aedan to and why?
Not sureHow did the narrator detract from the book?
Makes the females seem too whiny. Everyone sounds pretty much the same as in they sound like they might be performing on a stage in a play. Or maybe even like the master of ceremony at a circus. Every word is is like a grand announcement if it is a male and all males sound alike and all females sound alike. This series was previously voiced by a different narrator and he was great. My disappointment may have been intensified by having listened to the previous books in the series voiced by one person who was really good at giving each character their own voice and more bringing their character's personality to life. I came to know the characters. New person took over and all of a sudden characters weren't at all themselves.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
noAny additional comments?
Trying to decide if I want to keep listening to this series or switch to reading and hearing the voices in my head.Enjoyed previous narrations of the series more
