In depth explanation of old ideas.

Many years ago I took a course in symbolic logic. As I remember, it explored Plato's argument that if we exist, God must exist, and if God doesn't exist we cannot either. I didn't understand then. Years later I read a similar argument by C.S. Lewis. His explanation was better, but I still didn't understand completely. This book cleared it up for me. It's a lengthy but lucid explanation of a very old argument.

The best philosophical argument for God!

Excellent book! So much fun listening to this one. Extremely ambitious! Very abstract reasoning. Listeners probably need an introduction to philosophy from a very strong, analytic style to appreciate the details. I'll probably listen to this again, and again.... One of the best arguments for the existence of God! Very similar in broad brushstrokes to Saint Thomas Aquinas' "Third Way". Highly recommended!

Very good introduction to contingency arguments

Rasmussen, as usual, is able to express his case in a way which is much easier to follow than many of his peers in philosophy of religion. He trades out much of the abstract technical lingo with more practical understanding terms and descriptions, which makes this book a great place for beginners to learn about the general lines of reasoning behind contingency arguments.
