The story was told from the author’s personal experience.

I disliked the narrator’s voice.
The author generalized/stereotyped the Gentiles living in his village. He considered all of them lazy, worthless, etc.

Better Understanding

I am 65 yrs old. My mother is Jewish. This book helped me to better understand why the state of Israel is so important to the Jewish people. Never again will they be physically removed from their homes because of their religion.

A sad and disturbing story of a teen survivor of the Holocaust. The narrative was concise and the reader add the right amount of empathy and sympathy to the story.

I have a huge interest in World War 2 books that include survival stories!! All of the historical background was very informative!! I know I learned so much!! Everyone should listen/ read this book!!

Riveting narration

There is nothing I disliked about this recounting. This book gives a very detailed account of the atrocities committed by nazi germany and their sympathizers on the Jewish people of Europe. I was also fascinated to learn that Eli Weitzel (author of “Night”) and Moshe crossed paths on their way to freedom.
This also stands as a reminder that all Jews were not persecuted in the same way, and none of their experiences were the same or had the same effects.
I strongly recommend this audiobook to anyone wanting to understand a WWII Jews perspective, experiences, and the complicated emotions that result from such an indescribable time.
Five stars for the narration, the order in which the story was told, and how everything was out together overall. I also highly recommend reading “Night” if you haven’t.
