A practical support guide for anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy.
Zoe Clark-Coates and her husband, Andy, have personally faced the loss of five babies. Out of their experiences came the charity The Mariposa Trust (more often known by its leading division, Saying Goodbye), offering support to thousands of grieving parents and relatives around the world each week. In her first book, Saying Goodbye, Zoe wrote a moving account of their experiences and how they found a way through to provide help and support for others.
In The Baby Loss Guide Zoe provides a supportive and practical guide to walk people through their darkest days of suffering and give them hope for the future. Through practical advice interlaced with personal stories from individuals who have been there, she explores the different types of baby loss, the major myths and assumptions around baby loss and the grieving process and tackles the big taboos such as intimacy following loss, returning to work and trying for another child. Whether looking to help yourself or a bereaved loved one, this companion will provide compassionate comfort and support through grief.

Not that I was suicidal, so those words may be a bit extreme but I didn’t think I could ever be happy again.
This book, Zoe, saved me. It was the most healing thing for me. At the end of the book, the journal entries each day, also helped. Each day is a new topic or task, and it was hard sometimes, but also healing. Something as simple as getting dressed and doing your makeup, that helped! Hearing zoe’s story and all the women (and men!) speak about their story, made me feel less alone.
Miscarriages are so taboo, and I hate that. I have, since my first miscarriage been vocal about it. On social media, at work, etc. it’s hard to be so vulnerable and it’s hard to hear people say things that you wish they hadn’t. But I had to speak up and let my babies be known. This book, I will recommend to everybody who has lost a baby. Whether it’s from childhood cancer, a 36 week miscarriage, or a 7 week miscarriage.. a loss is a loss. Grief is grief. And I truly from the bottom of my heart thank you Zoe for sharing your experiences, writing this book, and I also really am glad you read the book to me. It made it that much more special.
I will treasure this book forever and please believe, when the hard copy is available in the US, I will buy it and have it on display. Thank you.
You saved me.
