I read this book many years ago, and wanted to give listening to it a try. I'm so glad that I revisited this one. Elsie is such an intriguing character and without giving much away, an occasionally unreliable narrator. I loved the mystery aspect of the story. Of trying to uncover a truth that you've hidden from yourself, is very interesting to read.

I love her spin on the "girl meets boy who introduces her to a whole new world" type beat. And Elsie's dynamic with the group is entertaining.

I found it difficult to get through parts with Elsie's family. Not because it was poorly written but because it was so real. A family torn apart by the loss of a child and the unsaid feeling of resentment towards each other.

I loved the way Sarah handled the topic of eating, which is a delicate subject that she handled well. But I should put a trigger warning for people with EDs, some scenes can be difficult to listen to.

Overall I absolutely love this book, and think that everyone should give it a read.

I can't believe this book isn't a best seller?!
