Harry Potter lovers, here's your next book !
This is flawless. Continuing on in the tradition of great story tellers, James Nicol creates a world where witches are the norm and everyday life and magic exist side by side. I often thought of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter as I listened, as this book creates such a solid reality and so deftly submerges the reader. It is for a young reader but, like Potter, has appeal for all ages. The narrator is perfect and I only hope she is continues to read all of James Nicol's future book. Can't wait for the next one !

Great story and characters
Appropriate for kids, bonus!
Seriously, just try it. I've listened a few times and now listen to that lovely voice as I drift off to sleep at night.

Great Witchy Read!
First, I have to confess I listened to the audiobook. And the narrator was fantastic! She made the story come to life. Still, she wouldn't have been able to do this if the author hadn't written such a marvelous story! Whoever said this was a great comparison to Harry Potter (or was it as satisfying as Harry Potter), was spot on! This is well worth a read!

Magical and fun
This book was sooooo cute. I loved the world and the magical system. Kind of like a really girl based Le guin. I hope he writes more!
