It's a generation that's never had a full belly. It's a generation that has no idea what an Xbox did, or what algebra is for. It's a generation of children who never laugh out loud, and who have learned to cry softly because the dead are always near and the dead are always so very, very hungry.

Grim But Good Zombie Story
What made the experience of listening to The Apocalypse Outcasts the most enjoyable?
Very well narrated.
What did you like best about this story?
Character development, especially that of Jillybean and how a child copes with a world full of zombies and desperate people.
Any additional comments?
Interesting characters with lots of flaws and oddities make this book series more than your average zombie saga. Often it feels that the zombies are background players that frame the story, but don't play a major part other than to create the disaster everyone is coping with. The wide range of characters developed in the prior books struggle to survive and deal with the new normal. Characters aren't sacred in this series and bad things happen to them all.
The bounty hunter character started off strong but became more of a bit player. It would have been interesting to see this guy developed further.
All in all a good listen and well narrated, but start with the first story so you'll have the full character development.
