Great story, but narration? Not so much.
Normally, I love Dave Gillies' narrations. He's awesome at voices and accents. But, for some reason, this time he seemed to be overly concerned with the body of the story, even though the voices were still great. He goes from a normal speaking voice to whispers, and then the dialogue will blast me out of the room! I have to keep adjusting volume which, as you can surmise, really detracts from the story!
Susan King is a new author for me, but I enjoyed her writing immensely.

It was ok
The story was cute and short which is what I wanted after listening to 8 40+hour novels. And I typically like Dave Gillies as a narrator but this was absolutely NOT his best work. I almost quit several times but muscled through to save myself the trouble of searching for another book.

It was Okay
Dave Gillies performance was outstanding. The story line dragged on. It never got better until the secret of the well and ease dropping was done. After that the story picked up.
It was determined Gavin loved her, the romance was in-depth.
Each point took forever . The story was good I made it to the end.
