America's Constitutional Republic is like no other.

Most Americans recognize the names George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, but few can tell you their stories—much less that of James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, or Andrew Jackson. These seven men from the Founding Ear were America's first presidents. They established our republic on the foundation of the Constitution and its liberties.

From very different backgrounds, all loved their nation. Each had shortcomings (some far more than others) as well as stellar shining moments. Some preserved our strong foundations and some abandoned core constitutional principles.

The stories of each of these presidents are fascinating, instructive, and compelling. And why not? After all, these are the men who built the republic.

Great book, horrible narrator

The content is extremely interesting, well thought out and well written, but it was difficult to listen to. Several times, I had to turn it off just because the narrator was so hard to listen to.

Necessary reading for all Americans!

Incredibly important read for all Americans. This book is needed for our time! Highly recommend.

History everyone should know.

A very well written book, using accurate first hand sources. This book should be used in classrooms everywhere.

History - No Spin

I have read other history books by these authors. They are consistent in using source documents and not pulling history out of thin air like so many historians in and out of academia (but, mostly in).

The narrator did a fine job.

I highly recommend this audiobook.

History

This book accurately gives the reader a historical account of the first five presidents really in depth, although there are seven presidents all accurately covered. It’s so nice to get a real intimate view of the presidents that shaped this great nation. Read it you will not be disappointed.
