Delightful Story

I loved the narrative. This is the second book of the series that I have listened to, and it's a delight to listen to this reader.

beautiful prose

This series of books is my happy place. Okay, I've never been to Africa and might very likely be shocked if I were to go, but to think that a place like Mma Ramotswe's Botswana exists just makes me feel better, especially at the end of a long and hard day. Oh please, Mr. MCall Smith, give us more.

its a good read. very calm and there isnt anything that makes the book hard to hear

it was pleasant listening to the accent of the reader. well written and enjoyable story.

the ladies detective agency is number 1

once again alexander mccall smith does not disappoint. i believe this is number 10 in the detective agency series and i have enjoyed it as much as all the rest. the narration is fabulous and the story flows so smoothly.. light easy summertime listening. the tiny white van? the husband stealer? it's all here.

Not One of His Best, But Still Enjoyable

I adore these characters and enjoy sharing their world vicariously, even when the novel falls short of McCall Smith's usual standard, as this one does. Let's hope the next book in the series, The Double Comfort Safari Club, will mark a return to the charm that first hooked me and so many other readers.

I love the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series. Lizette LeCarr does a good job. This story had a dramatic event with an outcome I didn't quite expect. Thoroughly enjoyed!

As always, a delightful telling of the stories of the lovely ladies of the #1 Ladies Detective Agency and their family and friends. Beautifully written and narrated. Brew a cup of tea and settle in for a wonderful time.

ANOTHER GRAND ADVENTURE!

It's always a treat to return to Botswana with Mme. & the familiar characters. It's just like coming home to family, to that comfortable place where one rests peacefully, reassuringly, knowing all will be well, with the conviction of the simple innocence wrapped up within a child's heart, untethered by the binding concerns of a complicated and oft times corrupted world, breathing easily, taking in the mindset of a better, gentler, more human time when people thought better of each other and of themselves.
