Resumen del Editor

Saying “I do” has never been such a mess.

Marlee Medford just got dumped. Yes, things have become ho-hum in her longtime relationship, but she was two days away from walking down the aisle with the man she thought was her forever when he called it off. Convincing herself that they’d be able to reignite their spark once the wedding craziness settled? That was easy. Suddenly finding herself without a fiancé? Not so much. Marlee needs to regain control of her life, and a weekend away with her friends is a solid first step.

One of Denver’s best up-and-coming chefs, perpetual bachelor Eli Howard, isn’t into serious relationships - especially the kind that ends in marriage. As if to prove his point that they aren’t worth the trouble, the wedding he was supposed to be catering just fell apart. Feeling oddly protective of the jilted bride - his little sister’s best friend - his weekend plans now involve a trip to Sin City with her group of friends. But it looks like he had a bit too much fun in Vegas when he wakes up married…wedding night included.

Marlee’s attempts at getting her life back together are failing miserably. Her ex-fiancé is taking the house, her chihuahua is intent on a love affair with Eli’s sneakers, and she’s now accidentally hitched to the guy who can't even say the word marriage. With their quickie annulment denied, Eli and Marlee just have to hang tight until the divorce goes through. It’s just a little divorce amongst friends, what’s the worst that could happen?

Take It Off the Menu is book three of the Mile High Matched series, but stands alone and can be heard in any order. If you love a hunky caterer and an accidental marriage then this book is for you! Buy now for a fun, friends-to-lovers romance!

Fantastic romcom!

Heiress Marley is 2 days away from her wedding when her fiancé calls it off. Enter her best friend, Sadie and her older brother Eli. They pack up Marley and move her into Eli’s apartment. A quick trip to Las Vegas leads to a drunken marriage and Marley’s funds being cut off by her parents. Yep, the ‘rents sided with the ex fiancé. As Marley and Eli wait for the divorce to go through, Marley finds happiness without money. There’s a meddling and troublemaking Russian grandmother, Babushka, an amorous Chihuahua named Lothario and true friends. You will laugh, you will be indignant, but most of all, you will love this book!

Fabulous RomCom & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

I loved everything about this book, from Christina Hovland’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created. The book captured both my attention and my heart right from the start and held it straight to the end. Marlee Medford fiancé Scott ends things with her two days before their wedding. She calls her best friends, Sadie, Becca & Kellie and they come running to show her support, Sadie brings her brother Eli for security purposes, in case Scott returns. Eli goes because of his protective nature and he knows the trouble his sister and her friends can get into. When they decide a trip to Vegas is in order he is invited along too. I loved what happens in Vegas, the craziness and the dares. A night of too much partying turns hot and steamy after a not so fake wedding. Too funny, but her parents did not think so and cut her off from her trust. Marlee starts working, first with Eli in his catering business even though she is a disaster in the kitchen. But Jase steals her away when he sees her skills with flower arranging. It is also great to see Babushka again and all her shenanigans. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted with plenty of drama and humor, some heartfelt moments and some hot ones too. It was great to see the characters from previous books and the news ones too, shout out to Lothario, LOL! Christina Hovland, thank you for this fabulous story, this series is one of my favorites!

Neva Navarre and Lance Greenfield are awesome narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they sound as you picture them to. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

More laughs & love ❤️

Once again, spent a majority of the time laughing throughout this whole story. I love Eli & Marlee, how they got together, and how they dealt with it after. I especially the cast of characters, friends from the other books in the series. I mean, seriously. If you want to just escape and completely enjoy yourself and LAUGH, you need to listen to this series. And Lance & Neva are just perfect together ❤️

Romantic Read with Sweet Life Messages

Take It Off the Menu is the third book in Christina Hovland’s Mile High Matched series. It is more contemporary romance than romantic comedy, and it is absolutely delicious! Each of the books in this series focuses on a different guy in a tight group of friends. In this latest installment, Denver socialite, Marlee Medford, pushes her best friend’s brother, Chef Eli Howard, way out of his comfort zone.

From the first page to the last, I was hooked on this story. The characters are delightful, and the story line is charming (like many romantic comedies, the plot points are sometimes far fetched, but forgivable). It is such a fun read, that I could not put it down.

I just loved Marlee! She has a big heart, and she is very generous. That generosity is totally taken advantage of when her fiancé not only dumps her, but also kicks her out of their shared house as well as tries to get her parents on his side. You can’t help but assume he was in it for the money and career advancement (ugh!). Clearly, Scotty, the ex-fiancé, is an easy to despise secondary character!

Eli is strong, sexy, and a man of few words. He is giving toward and protective of everyone he holds close to his heart. That includes his kid sister’s best friend, Marlee. Even though Eli claims he is not a relationship guy, you just know that sparks are going to fly between these two main characters. Not only do these two characters define fun, they bring out the best in each other. It was fun and joyful to see how their relationship blossomed.

Take It Off the Menu is a fun, romantic read with sweet little messages about what is important in life. This novel is a fantastic series addition that left this reader hoping for more stories of the secondary characters because I'm not ready for it to end.

Hysterically funny and charming

Christina Hovland's "Take it Off the Menu" is a sweet, hysterically funny story featuring wonderful, well-developed, and likeable characters. In some places, the secondary characters almost stole the show from main characters Eli and Marlee, especially Lothario the chihuahua and Babushka, Eli's friend Jase's elderly Russian grandmother. One of my favorite parts of this book was Lothario's love affair with shoes (and various other inappropriate objects). His name was certainly an appropriate one!

The male lead character, Eli, was a lovable grump who kind of reminded me of a grown-up Oscar the Grouch. Even though he thought he'd had his fill of responsibility as a teenager, when he stepped up to help his family through a difficult time, meeting Marlee helped Eli realize that there could be more to life than constantly working to achieve his goal of opening his own restaurant. Marlee, who was sweet, generous, and genuinely seemed to care about others, was a great influence on Eli. She deserved to be treated so much better than she was by her ex-fiance, Scotty, so it was lovely to see the way Eli came to care for her while also helping her take her first steps towards independence.

Overall, I highly recommend "Take it Off the Menu" for all romantic comedy fans. The rest of the series looks to be just as good as this book, and I plan to check them all out soon.

....a fabulous handful of fun.

Hovland can charm the heart right out of your chest. Take It Off the Menu keeps hearts racing and laughs flowing with a tempting group of over the top characters. Eli and Marlee are clueless friends who could be perfect lovers. If they can get over their phobia of finding happily ever after. Enticingly ridiculous and abundantly entertaining breeds a fabulous handful of fun.
