Those blue eyes sucker-punched him the minute he looked into them. It felt like the ground had literally gone out from under him. Mellie is everything that he could ever want and everything that he shouldn't have. Even if he didn't know that she's too good for a guy like him, her brother would never be okay with it.
He is overprotective and proud of it. But at some point, you have to say "Screw the consequences" and go after what you know is meant to be yours.
Too bad someone wasn't happy for them when the found their way to one another. Someone will make sure they don't stay together by any means necessary. They'll even kill to get what they want.

loved it Butt......
iv read this book on my ereader and loved it I still love the story. but why is there only one reader. she did good. but I feel it would have been better if a male also read the male character. but over all loved it

meh
I struggled to keep listening after about 15 min...but because I paid for it I decided to stick it out. I was hoping for a romance-type story, parts of this didn't disappoint on that but overall WAY too much language that seemed awkwardly placed and not natural. Some of the character narrative seemed to drone on without direction or purpose to just fill space. Just didn't enjoy the female narration of what was supposed to be a large, ex-Navy Seal guy...I'd get a guy to co-narrate and see what difference it makes.
