Obviously, it makes sense that she wants to stay as far away from the opposite sex as possible. The only thing she cares about is her family and work...well, and maybe keeping her battery supply fully stocked. Of course, staying away from the opposite sex would be a lot easier if a certain Viking-looking police officer didn’t seem to be everywhere that she is. It would also be a lot easier if he would just stop flirting with her. Doesn’t he understand that she’s a mess on the best of days? A mess with four kids! What man in his right mind wants a woman who’s crazy with a ton of kids?

Marc is the type of man who enjoys variety in life...if you know what I mean. But he hasn’t been able to get a certain crazy, jilted woman out of his mind for the past year. Unfortunately for him, he likes a woman who’s a little crazy, and Kayla has just the right amount. He knows that the last thing that she probably needs in her life is a man like him. But it’s like fate is even trying to help him. She is everywhere these days, and he’s not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

He’s a man who always has a plan. His newest one? To get Kayla to be his. Pretty simple right? Sure, if you don’t factor in that she doesn’t want a man. And that she has four kids. And that her ex-husband is the biggest piece of trash that he’s ever met.

And if you don’t include meddling family members. Sure, this will be a piece of cake. What could go wrong?

Great story, but the narrator . . .

I love the story, read the book first so I knew what to expect, but the narrator kept mispronouncing Declan and other words, which got annoying.

I loved this book. I laughed so much. The narrator was very good. This is one of my favorite series ❤️

Loved the story!

I like the characters Nikki Mays created for this series. I also like this story line very much. The fact that she’s a single mom with 4 children whom her hot cop falls in love with is awesome!!!

Amber Bray does well with the different characters.

Fun listen

This was an fun and enjoyable listen. Kayla and Marc were great and had me laughing out loud at times. The storyline was great and the narrator did a good job with the characters.

Excellent narration

This is such an enjoyable book. Amber has so much personality shining through. Good storyline with great characters. I was laughing most of the way through.

Story filled with heart and laughter!

Nikki Mays is new to me and I totally loved this book. This book is filled with heart, laughter, fantastic banter, lovable characters, and love. The heart of the story is not just the main characters but also the secondary ones, too. I laughed out loud many times while listening to the story. Kayla's kids are priceless, The bat incident with Marc had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. Oh, the innocence and truthfulness of children. Kayla has a whole group of relatives and friends that are ready to support her and her children. Yes there were also some hot steamy love scenes.w

The narrator did mispronounce several words and normally I would rate her with one less star. However, the rest of her narration was excellent. She had distinctive voices for the characters and her timing for the comedy moments was right on target. She and the author had my attention for the entire story. This was one of those stories I hated to see end. I did ask to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review.

10 star worthy!!

I freaking LOVED this. I listened to this and was bursting out in laughter multiple times while listening. When I wasn’t laughing I usually had a big smile on my face. These characters! I could listen to these boys banter ALL DAY long! Then add in Kayla to the mix?! This just gets better. The story was so unbelievably good! I picked this up random and can’t believe how much I love it! I think i have a new fav author.

The secondary characters are just as much fun to listen to as the main two. The name calling between DeClan and Kayla....hilarious! The sister of Marc, the pseudo brothers of Kayla, the mom and ex mother in law...I could really go on and on. They are all magnificent and add so much to the story.

This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last! In fact I have purchased the others in this series. The story was delivered perfectly. It is one of my favorites and will be going on my repeat list.
I did listen to this on audio and Amber Bray was outstanding. Her character portrayal was spot on!

This was a very enjoyable, fun listen! The storyline was great, the narrators were really good! The author did a great job with writing a smooth flowing story! I would recommend this one!

Funny book with heart

As a mother of 7 year old twins, I cheered during the first few bits of the book because, YES, I am the type of mother she is. So, with this, I’ve already fallen in love with the book. Supporting cast is awesome, especially the family of the cheating ex, Craig, all of whom support Kayla. (Boy is Craig a horrible person!) This is a funny book but with a lot of feels especially because Marc, the cop who first arrested Kayla when she tried to drown Craig, falls hard for Kayla (and her brand of crazy). Who doesn't love it when a person accepts another person, crazy and all. So, overall, there was a lot of heart in this story- cute kids, great supporting cast and a wonderful romance but also, especially, love of family. What a cute epilogue too!

Amber Bray is a great narrator. She has great voice modulation and easily distinguishes between multiple people, including women and children. She’s good at representing Marc but it would be best if the book had a male narrator. However, I found her narration to be excellent, overall.
