Finally, I found good scary stories on Audible!

I’ve loved scary stories since I was a little kid, but my favorite books are in the folklore tradition, such as Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and The Thing at the Foot of the Bed, by Maria Leach. Also, Urban Legends, by Jan Harold Brunvand, Haunted Hearland, and other ghost lore and paranormal short stories. I’ve been searching for some short spooky stories to make me forget my worries before bed, or enjoy on a dark, stormy night. These stories are some of the best paranormal audio I’ve found. I love stories that make you ponder what happens after we die, and emergency workers have a unique vantage point for observing such phenomena. The narrator has a very believable voice for the cop stories, with a blue collar, matter of fact tone that works well for a “real stories” compilation. This is a great book for middle school through college kids, adults, and families. There are descriptions of accident victims and dying patients that are descriptive, but not gratuitous violence or gore, which are surprisingly common in even children’s scary story books. It’s definitely enough to convey the emotions first responders deal with, but not disturbing. The paranormal events which take place provide a comforting sense of the continuity of life, in the wake of trauma.

You'll get more entertainment off tick tock.

I accidentally spent one of my credits on this, thinking it was a free podcast. it wouldn't even be a good podcast.

The author just went out on the internet and grabbed random stories and assembled them together without even paying attention. There were two stories that were repeated with only a few details changed but they were the same situations. One was a cop stopping somebody for a random traffic violation and a female cop appeared in his patrol car to issue a warning. Both stories were identical except for the endings.

This wasn't even a book with a plot, no beginning middle or end. Just two boring hours, hoping they'll be scary stories. Total fail.
