I just can't believe I slammed the door in Reagan MacPherson's face last night.
Is her situation just like mine? Does she have some sort of smartass alien entity inside her brain? Is she registered? Do her friends know? Is she stronger than me? Does this somehow make me look hot to her? Is Liberty - the World's Greatest Hero - going to come after her like the way he's going to come after me?
My name is Gabe Garrison, and this is the second volume of my story ...

They are nicely written, just not for me. This book picks up where the last left off. It takes up into Regan's head and powers. The mixed narrative goes between her and Gabe. The transitions are clear and smooth and easy to follow.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Bryan Reid, who has a nice read. I generally enjoy his tone and pace. The issue I have as to do with the voice of Regan. It was weird and off, just not to my liking. Other than that it was a good read.
I am sure there are those this series will really appeal to, just not me. It is nice to try something new every now and again. I can appreciate the writing, it was the genre that wasn't for me.
Disclosure – I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own.

Would you listen to Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two again? Why?
Probably- I have a feeling that once I've read the other books there will be things I'll want to go back and listen to so I can say "Oh, YEAH! That happened."What did you like best about this story?
I enjoy how well pop culture is integrated into the story, making it feel like it's more a part of "our" universe.Which scene was your favorite?
When the big twist is revealed- it's enough to throw you for a loop, but once you realize how it all ties in together, you wonder how you missed it the first time around. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There comes a moment when a typical "heroic" choice has to be made, and the way it's resolved is very well written and performed.Backstory that moves the full story forward

In many ways, this installment serves as a bridge. It encounters some of the second episode slump issues that a lot of serialized stories deal with, but overall it sets up future events without coming across in a "been there, done that" manner.
Narration wise, Bryan Reid vocal work is in top form. He goes back and forth between character voices with relative ease, and his Southern accent jumps from comical to charming while still being respectful. In fact, after two Volumes, I don't think I ever want to experience this story outside the audiobooks.
On the whole, Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two experiences the second episode slump, and a few jokes don't quite land. But the ending leaves things in a good spot for future development, and Bryan Reid's narration work elevates the story to another level.
4 out of 5 stars.
Prose, Tennessee is back in fine form!

Where does Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 5What other book might you compare Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two to and why?
It's difficult to compare Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two to any other book I've listened to as it is quite different than most of the books I've listened to. And that's NOT a bad thing!Which character – as performed by Bryan Reid – was your favorite?
Still have to say "M". I LOVE his sarcastic attitude and pompous manner. Bryan Reid performs all characters in this series very well, but "M" stands out.If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Where Being Super is Not Necessarily a GOOD Thing!Any additional comments?
Once again, Sevan Paris pens an exciting, humorous and engaging story. Continuing where Book One leaves off, we are introduced to a new character (voiced superbly by Reid) and learn a great deal about "M" which may explain WHY he is such an....well...you know! I eagerly await Book Three!Supers are still...SUPER!

I find it difficult to give a basic rundown of short stories without giving everything away. I will say this there is time travel, ray guns and a super villain involved in this installment. "M" has more of a featured role as opposed to last time.
While these are very short stories or chapters or volumes, whatever you want to call them. They are still complete in every aspect. Fully satisfying, cynical and entertaining glimpses into a parallel Earth where superheroes really exist. These are meant to be fun stories and Paris is evolving as a writer with each chapter.
I am pretty sure that Bryan Reid is related to or channels Trey Parker, one of the founders of South Park. I say this because his narration style reminds my of Cartman so much. Makes me laugh so hard. The subtle and not so subtle sarcasm that he is able to inject into every place that Paris wanted it is perfection.

Would you consider the audio edition of Superheroes in Prose, Volume Two to be better than the print version?
Yes definitely. The characters really come to life in audio which you wouldn't hear in the book. I love Superheroes in Prose and I received this audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Reagan but I really like Gabe. I like his dialogue with M and also that he cares about Reagan.Which character – as performed by Bryan Reid – was your favorite?
I think Gabe is my favorite character as performed by Bryan. You get to know Gabe better. He has more character and a conscious. I love the voice of M though. It's hard to choose because Bryan is good at all the characters. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes. I liked the beginning where Gabe slams the door in Reagan's face after she waited half the night for him to get home. She wanted answers for why she keeps doing weird star thingys.Any additional comments?
I love this series and can't wait until Paradigm Vol.3 of Superheroes is out. It's a lot of fun.Superheroes ROCK!
