This is a fun series to listen to.

I have enjoyed listening to this series of Nick's travels to the state capitals. Nick has an eye for detail and sees details in pictures that no one else might. Is he able to stay out of a mystery during these travels? You won't be disappointed listening to this book. I received a copy for an honest review.

Accident or Murder?

I enjoy this series a lot. The setting changes as each book is about a different state capital. The way that the murder occurs has been different in each story. So far the only constant has been the protagonist Nick O'Flannigan, but even he is changing as he gets drawn into the different murder scenes. I recommend this series for its short, but well written murder mysteries. Joseph L Stevenson's narration is great. I like his clear and precise delivery. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

13 and going strong

This is the thirteenth book in the series. The stories and characters are still evolving and getting better.

The perpetrator is obvious, but the roundabout way the mystery is solved is convoluted, much like book 12 in this series. The perp could have easily gotten away with it as well, the fact that he didn’t was mind-numbingly stupid, as it should have been trivially easy to clean up after the fact. But plot contrivances demanded it not be so.

Aside from the mystery being a little meh, the world-building is nice. Shaggy’s parents are always amusing and it shows just how quickly he and Daphne have grown to trust each other, as she was his first thought after getting stung.

The audio in this book is awful. The narrator still can’t tell the difference between O and 0, he constantly mispronounces prescription throughout the story saying “perscription”, which I find to be utterly insufferable. But worse than that are the 3 (possibly more) AWFUL audio hiccups. It sounds as if the recording was badly cut mid-word or something. They’re extremely noticeable and it tells me that this wasn't listened to post-editing, the quality control just isn’t there.

Hooked me in on First Page

He is at it again. Just trying to take photos of the capital and a murder mystery happens. This time he gets stung by a wasp. It jumps right to the murder of the killer wasp, the Labatory that is making these wasps. What will happen?
