Enjoyed Rita and Jake, though the lack of conclusion with the real culprit for the fire was… frustrating for me. I have a strong sense of justice, so it rankled not to have the outcome I expected! Open door, 🌶️🌶️.5.

Everything is exceptional, likable, cohesion incl. characters, compelling, original storyline, narrators with superbly original fine casting!!

I love this book so much! Complex and well-written characters, addictive plot, fast-paced, wise, poignant, romantic, sexy, sweet! Excellent narrators too! I'm going to listen to it more than once!!!

Heart Warming

So heart warming. So filled with hope and second chances. Best one yet in this series!

I wanted to like this ..

The narration was hard to get through, mostly I felt the gentleman voice fell flat but I’ve definitely heard worse.

I was excited for Rita’s story, I really enjoyed her small part in May’s and Scarlet’s stories. The struggle was with the plot twist.. I won’t spoil it but I found it very frustrating that they just moved on from something so huge. I believe in second chances and that good people make bed decisions, It felt kind of unrealistic.. and like they were too easy on Nolan. I think I wanted him to be remorseful.

Idk.. Rita is still awesome, a badass with a good heart, and I’m glad she found Jake. Nolan is on my shit list though..

Opposites Attract 💕

Rita Kaplan (MFC) She’s a 43 year old attorney with a gift at being very direct. She loves coffee, her hiking boots, her law practice and she’s a regular at the Busy Bean Cafe. She’s a recovering alcoholic and attends regular AA meetings at the local church in Colebury, VT.

Jake Drummond (MMC) former arson investigator and currently serving his final year, on an arson conviction, on probation. Part of his probation requires Rita to oversee that he attends AA meetings and she’s the supervisor at Building Buddies, where he’s working on building houses, for an enforced work-placement on his prison sentence.

The two of them have a mutual attraction and keep finding themselves in the same space and trying to fight the need to touch one another.

We have an old mystery and they find themselves against odds when it’s solved and opens up old wounds, but along the way helps to heal them both.

Really good!

I don’t know what the other reviews found so bad about the narrating?? It was good! Love Rita and was so exited to see her get her own story. Hers and Scarlets have been my favorites. It’s nice to see some mid-life romances. Such good humor! Couldn’t stand Nolan though. I felt like he needed some redeemable quality to help the balance of his character. Overall, I liked it!

Not the best Audio performance

Disappointed at the reading of the story… and reading, not performance of the story. Hard to listen to both of the voices reading the story. Kinda like they wanted to get it over with.

Fairly predictable

Although this was a nice contemporary romance it was fairly predictable and to be honest not much to it for me. I did see the twist coming but am a sucker for a happy ending.

Studfinder - Saves the Series!

Thank goodness for L.B. Dunbar and Studfinder! The series is redeemed…IMO.

I was so sorely disappointed in the previous two books that I almost “shelved” the whole dang thing…even if the first couple of books were amazing.

However, I love everything from LBD so far…I hoped Studfinder would restore my faith…and it did.

Loved the story, even if I don’t agree with the premise of someone not taking full responsibility for their actions…it was still a dangerous form of codling that doesn’t allow someone to truly learn from consequences.

Anyway…this one’s fabulous. Enjoy💖
