Acerca de esta escucha
Welcome to another excursion into the rowdy, the gritty, the irreverent, and the hilarious. In Book II, previously minor characters take up more space, major characters don’t back down, new characters burst in—the stage is set for conflict and mayhem.
Tara Peabody jumps into the fray. She’s a fighter, a survivor, and will not tolerate the humiliation and disrespect Stella Gale has dragged her through. Does she have what it takes to exact the revenge that so many others have sought, and still seek?
Mick’s quest for revenge becomes ever more complicated by both his love for Annie and the long-held secret she reveals to him. Pete Strate is the wild card that puts into motion what Margaret Appleman believes could culminate in her dream of finally “bagging a very big bird”.
Stella heads out to find Annie and bring her back home. Bobby refuses to join Stella in her search and begins building a cabin, a project that takes on more meaning than he ever intended.
Billy and Lisa-Lee are swallowed up in a series of outrageous and unpredictable events. Big Bertha, Amazing Grace, Ivan the Terrible, Oz, and now Tara’s Yam, along with the other dogs at Galestorm Kennel, continue to have a compelling role in the culmination of this human drama.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Historia
When Marshall McEwan left his hometown at age 18, he vowed never to return. The trauma that drove him away ultimately spurred him to become one of the most successful journalists in Washington DC. But just as the political chaos in the nation’s capital lifts him to new heights, Marshall is forced to return home in spite of his boyhood vow. His father is dying, his mother is struggling to keep the family newspaper from failing, and the town is in the midst of an economic rebirth that might be built upon crimes that reach into the state capitol - and perhaps even to Washington.

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Historia
Michael Hiebert’s remarkable debut novel tells the riveting story of a small Southern town haunted by tragedy. Abe Teal wasn’t even born when Ruby Mae Vickers went missing twelve years ago. Few people in Alvin, Alabama, talk about the months spent looking for her, or about how Ruby Mae’s lifeless body was finally found beneath a willow tree. Even Abe’s mom, Leah, Alvin’s only detective, has avoided the subject. But now, another girl is missing.

Riveting!!
Non-stop storytelling!
The characters range from crazy to complex to broken to just plain evil. The main character Stella, is obnoxious, funny, scary and crude.
If you are a dog lover/owner you will relate to these beautiful animals and yes, even their personalities.
The narrator is sensational and out right believable! I can picture her in my head so vividly that there were times when I almost wanted to yell out loud at her!!
She was unbelievably spot-on as she narrated Bobbie’s character. I could feel his inner pain/conflicts.
I was obsessively engaged with every twist and turn!
