Acerca de esta escucha

This chapter-book edition of the number-one New York Times best seller by luminaries Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds is an essential introduction to the history of racism and antiracism in America

RACE. Uh-oh. The R-word.
But actually talking about race is one of the most important things to learn how to do.

Adapted from the groundbreaking best seller Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, this book takes listeners on a journey from present to past and back again. Kids will discover where racist ideas came from, identify how they impact America today, and meet those who have fought racism with antiracism. Along the way, they’ll learn how to identify and stamp out racist thoughts in their own lives.

"An amazingly timely and stunningly accessible manifesto for young people.... At times funny, at times somber but always packed with relevant information that is at once thoughtful and spot-on, Stamped is the book I wish I had as a young person and am so grateful my own children have now." (Jacqueline Woodson, best-selling and National Book Award-winning author of Brown Girl Dreaming)

"Sheer brilliance.... An empowering, transformative read. Bravo." (Jewell Parker Rhodes, New York Times best-selling author of Ghost Boys)

"Teens are often searching for their place in the world, in Stamped, Reynolds gives context to where we are, how we got here, and reminds young people - and all of us - that we have a choice to make about who we want to be. This unapologetic telling of the history of racism in our nation is refreshingly simple and deeply profound. This is the history book I needed as a teen." (Renée Watson, New York Times best-selling and Newbery Honor-winning author of Piecing Me Together)

Facts are facts. We need to finally face our past to understand how we got here. I hope people will be open minded to see the facts in front of us all.

As an educator I believe this is the kind of book that should be in every middle school classroom but more importantly in the homes of every middle schooler. Great for families to listen to together. The performance was great too!!

Great read for kids and their parents!

so informative and love that we hear this information from a child. I plan on using pieces of this in my classroom. Excellent audio to have in your library. Grown ups please read the adult version for more details.

I absolutely loved this book. I have recently been working with a fifth grade team of teachers to revise/enhance district standards and I found many parts of this text as valuable counter narratives for what is provided in the curriculum. Also having it read by someone, who atleast sounds youthful, narrate was nice to hear.

This book is very informative, and important for the society that we live in. because it gives the understanding on how all this discrimination towards us started and proceeded even until today, from economics to politics, from entertainment to society. also it give even the youth understatement of how it happened and how it is continued. This book is a good source of collective history that people mostly black people need to know.
