Spiritual Journey introduces the concept of spiritual formation and how to get started on the adventure of drawing near to God. Each chapter includes four parts - a subject, an obstacle, a spiritual discipline, and a practice - to help the listener understand different aspects of the spiritual journey, identify roadblocks, and learn how to navigate through to the other side.

Covered themes include desperation for God, brokenness, God’s desire for us, the definition of a spiritual journey, identity, hearing God, and developing character. Identified obstacles such as lies, fear, anger, shame, refusal of love, and disobedience reveal barriers to growth to the listener.

Mirror moments are provided within each chapter to give the listener opportunity to immediately reflect and sort through thoughts and feelings accompanying the obstacles.

Spiritual disciplines such as saying yes to God, community, meditation, journaling, listening, prayer, and submission are introduced for the listener to practice simple activities that bring transformation from the inside out. Dr. Wanda Walborn challenges listeners to enter into the adventure of the spiritual journey, process through painful places, remove obstacles, and step into the freedom and fullness provided through the presence and power of Christ.

Life changing book!

Loved it and definitely a great book to unpack our luggage with the Lord. If you are looking for change or for growth in your spiritual life then this is the book. It was great listening to Dr. Walbourn narrate this book.

Becoming closer to God is what we should all be searching for. The author did a beautiful job of guiding us to, through and on towards a closer relationship with our Father.

Why this book will change your life...!

This book is incredible. It’s an easy-to-connect with book on accessing greater growth to your spiritual journey. The part that impacted me the most was Wanda sharing about her process in dealing with anger. The forgiveness prayer she leads into is one that I have written down and used multiple times since listening to her book. From my experience, there are not a lot of resources on dealing with anger in a healthy way in the Christian church, but the authenticity and healing journey that Wanda shares is a stepping stone to help you walk it out yourself. I love the achievable mirror moments for practical application at the end of each chapter, and not only do I highly recommend this book for anyone’s personal journey, but I see it as a great resource for small groups to walk through together! Add this book to your resource shelf, as I know you will want to hand it out to many friends or tell them all about it, which I already have!

Structure was easy to follow

I really enjoyed the structure and end of chapter questions. This really made me reflect and engage in the change I needed to make.
