Resumen del Editor

The first in a three-book middle grade novel series by Spider-Man's number one fan and hilarious fiction writer, Preeti Chhibber!

Peter Parker has been swinging and thwipping his way through New York City as Spider-Man for just a few months, and balancing his double life is complicated. He goes to school and tries not to embarrass himself in front of his crush, MJ; he takes photos for the Daily Bugle and tries not to embarrass himself in front of his boss, J. Jonah Jameson; and he fights crime in the evenings and . . . well, he's kind of always trying to not embarrass himself. Easier said than done when you're a teen with spider powers you're still getting used to. On top of all that, the notorious villain the Sandman is acting more strangely than ever, social media seems to be taking a toll on MJ, and someone keeps trying to steal an artifact that's supposedly powered by alien matter . . . which can't be good. Something eerie is going on, and Peter is determined to figure out what it is before things go from weird to dangerous.

Told with Preeti Chhibber's incomparable voice, which balances wit and charm with teenage earnestness and vulnerability, this series is full of action-adventure, humor, friendship, and, of course, heroism.

Every time I heard sandman I could only picture vulture

Great listen, different spidey story but fun nonetheless. My only gripe is that sandman sounded to much like what vulture would sound like. Other than that, it was a banger.

Worth it? Maybe Kinda. Probably Definitely?

I’ve read every Spider-Man book on here wether audible or from a library. This one is right in the “eh it was good” range. Most of these books show their true colors from the reviews, but this one deserves more. It’s good. Not amazing but good. Especially since I took up marvel unlimited and have been read ultimate Spider-Man, it’s ok. Worth a read… eh. Theres much better spidey books here. Buy it? Sure give it a go. Only if you’ve read ALL the other ones though cause it’s just ok.

really meh Spider-Man

With Jim Butcher’s Darkest Hour to compete with, this falls flat.

I’m going to be a stickler. A present tense story should never be told in third person.

And the number of passive verbs used is wildly distracting.

How about “he runs” instead of “he is running?” Or “he says,” not “he is saying?”

It’s really amateurish writing that Marvel should have immediately rejected.

All this book has going for it is that it’s Spider-Man. No other reason to listen.

Woke drivel

My 11 yo son loves Spider-Man so I bought this thinking it would be a fun listen for him. He loved it until they pulled the inclusivity card with a character referred to as a “they”. Can we just have stories that don’t include someone’s sexual orientation for once? This is supposed to be a kid’s story! What is a “they” anyway? Sounds like multiple personality disorder to me!
