I suck at witchcraft.

Coming from a long line of famous witches, I should be at the top of the heap. Problem is, if there’s a spell cast anywhere near me, I‘ll somehow mess it up. As a probationary agent with the Arcane Bureau of Investigation, I have two choices: I can limp along and maybe pass myself off as a competent agent, or I can die.

Horribly.

Worse news? I seem to have a stalker in the form of a sinfully hot, perpetually grumpy wolf who seems to have a keen interest in keeping me alive.

Whose idea was this again?

If you enjoy fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, and steamy paranormal romance, then check out Spells & Slip-ups, the first book in The Wrong Witch series.

I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book I've read/listened to by this author. I liked the world it was set in and the intermix and balance of witches/paranormal and non-paranormal society. I really liked both Wren and Nico. Wren is a witch who constantly fails at magic, but I love her sassy personality and she has a good heart. Nico was a growly and protective wolf shifter who saved her life and has been powerfully drawn to her ever since. I also liked the supporting characters in this book.

I listened to this story in audiobook and I loved the narration. Wren's character was narrated by Celeste Woodward and Nico's character by Lance Greenfield. I thought both did a fantastic job with their narrations, showed good emotions at the appropriate times, and did good jobs differentiating between different voices. I also liked the accents. Overall the story was all the more rich for it's narrations and I very much enjoyed it.

Such a great story, and now with the new male narrator it all fits together. I liked the old narrator, but he didn’t have that southern accent that meshed with the rest of story. See previous review for rest of story.

Even Better!

I read Spells and Slip ups when it first came out and loved it, but experiencing the audio book brought the world to life. Both narrators absolutely knocked it out of the park. Can’t wait for book 2!.

I love the development of Nico's character. At first not gonna lie I disliked him quiet a bit in the beginning. He is a little slow on the intake, but he gets better. He thinks she’s a spoiled untalented witch. The sad thing is she also thinks she just sucks at being a witch. I had all the feels for Wren's past, and hate them with more force then is probably necessary for fictional people. I love the little family she makes at the training school. Plus finding out all of Wren’s positive traits and her growing more confident!

The growth that all the characters (even secondary characters).

Just a note it does end on a cliff hanger. I can not wait for the second story.
