It all happened so fast. One minute Rowan was dying, the next he’d made the biggest mistake of his life.

The Supernatural Academy nearly killed me my freshman year, so when my sophomore year rolls around, I’m determined for things to be different. Sure, Rowan’s a mess, but he’s still studying magic and taking me on hot dates, and that’s all that matters. But what I don’t realize is how freaking obsessed he's become with finding a cure to reverse his new curse.

He wants magic back, and he’s willing to do anything to get it.

It’s not enough that I sign a blood pact with him, giving him access to my magic. And it’s not enough when he loses control. No, nothing will stop him from getting what he wants, which puts him and everyone in his path in danger.

The problem now is figuring out just how far I’m willing to go to save Rowan. And what will be left when it's over.

You will love the continuation of this magical academy series with kick-ass action, hot romance, and earth-shattering magic that will make you tingle in all the right places.

The exciting sequel to the Amazon best seller Freshman Witch. Get it now.

Sophomore year picks up right where the first one left off. Loved the continuation of the story. It was full of action from the start. Can’t wait for book 3

Great story

This book picks up were book 1 left off . Rowan is trying to remove a curse so he can use his own magic . The gang is supportive and we even get a blood pact but Rowan is still obsessed . Naturally chaos ensues . The narrator gave a good performance . Can't wait to start the next installment .

A great continuation

Charlie had a very interesting first year, after finding out that she is, in fact a witch, at the cost of her best friend Trey, she gets to attend one of the premier Supernatural Academies on a scholarship. There she meets her new best friend, Disha, as well as a guy, who she has a bit of a love/hate relationship with, Rowan Underwood.
During her time at the Academy, she finds that she is actually quite behind, as most students have been around Magic all their lives, whilst Charlie has only JUST started to learn about it.
One day, whilst on an excursion into a part of the Academy for a test, there is an incident (I’ll let you read about it), and Charlie finds herself with an ancient artifact of power – one that kills everyone else that goes near it. The artifact boosts her magical abilities, and she goes from being a below average Witch, to an above average, powerful Student at the school. Unfortunately, it has also marked her as someone with an item that many others would like to get their hands on.
In the first book, we got to learn about the introduction of Charlies relationships with Disha, Rowan, and to her bracelets of power, as well as the rest of the staff at the school and other students. We also learnt about how others want those bracelets, and are willing to kill for them.
In this 2nd book, we pick up from were Rowan had been mortally wounded, but at the last minute, was saved by Professor Ainsworth, by turning him into a Vampire. We get to see the initial reactions of Dean Underwood, and others, none of which is positive.
This is a really interesting book, it has multiple levels and stories, and so many of them have parallels to events that we are seeing in events around the world today.
The main core of the story is broken down into Rowan searching for something that will cure him, Charlie going with him to help him, and Disha going with her as her friend. There is an interesting dynamic, in which Charlie feels both guilty and responsible for Rowan, and she has so much love for him, that regardless of what he does, she almost has a compulsion to follow him. Disha however, is her voice of reason, and she feels responsible for Charlie.
As a result, the two girls find themselves in ever increasingly dangerous positions, all whilst trying to help Rowan, it is fascinating watching the development of the girls as they grow more powerful.
Meanwhile at the Academy, a decision has been made to let “Lesser Supernatural’s” attend, mainly spearheaded by Dean MacGregor Underwood, so that Rowan can attend the Academy. This of course causes a total uproar, as parents, the public, those of the ‘Superior Magical’ classes, all protest, especially about letting ‘creatures’ such as Vampires and Werewolves into the Academy, and making children unsafe.
This is an interesting storyline, in that we have seen such similar storylines in our own reality, when it has come to having the blacks integrated into schools, (or in the time of World War 2, the Jews in schools), and whilst there has never been real policy, there has been significant homophobia for generations (and still is). The parallels between this type of prejudice makes for a really great storyline in that it makes people think about how wrong prejudice is, how silly it can be. Anything that helps equality is a good thing.
The story has a lot of very intense and quite powerful relationship aspects, as it delves into the main relationship of Rowan and Charlie of course (which I will leave you to enjoy), but there are numerous others as well, Charlie and Disha, Rowan and his Father, Charlie and the staff, and just to keep things amusing, there is also a rather amusing new character Bridget, whose relationship with Disha, has you laughing hysterically at points.
This book actually reminds me of a more serious, more grown-up version of Harry Potter, in which Charlie (Harry obviously), has found out she is a Witch, not of anything great like Harry, but instead, she inherits the cuffs of Aradia. Whilst this book doesn’t have the massive baddie like Harry Potter, it instead has numerous smaller threats, which make the story that much more interesting, there is something new each book, with the main characters gaining in ability each book. And in this series, it seems that Charlie is constantly under threat as someone is always after her cuffs.
The writing is exceptionally well done, and the Characters are just outstanding. Charlie’s character is incredibly realistic, with her mostly introverted character, except for when she is threatened, or is in danger, and then she finds that bravery inside, from her time having to fend for herself on the streets. Her character is very believable, gritty, at times raw and emotional, as she is trying to deal with a lot of different things, but the Authors have not let this dominate the character so that is runs away with the story, as this is Urban Fantasy, and that would take too much away from it. So whilst there is this element of realism to Charlie, she is still a lot of fun with her sassy, sarcastic attitude as well.
Disha is just a blast, constantly putting people back in their places, all the while making sure she is dressed appropriately. Her character is just perfect, and so much fun. Rowan is wonderful as the brooding boyfriend, with his upper-class attitude, but at the same time, his total love and devotion for Charlie. However, he has this deep-seated desire to prove himself to his father, again, this is incredibly realistic, and this desire drives him to do crazy, irrational things. It makes for a really interesting read, and a very powerful, emotional character.
There are so many other exceptional Characters, Dean Underwood, the McIntosh’s, all the Professors, Sebastian Mink, and the various students.
If you have read part 1, Freshman Witch, you will love this, if you haven’t you should read both of them. If you have any interest in magic, Urban Fantasy, if you even looked at Harry Potter, you have to read this, it is brilliant!!
Kasi Hollowell is again, just outstanding as the Narrator of this series. She did a brilliant job of part 1, and does an even better job with part 2. She has the perfect voice for the main character, that right amount of sass for a street kid, crossed with the sheer terror of a young teenager who is in a situation that they want nothing to do with. She captures it beautifully. She has a beautiful voice that is easy to listen to, making it a joy to listen to this story as an Audiobook, and she does such a great job with creating both Male and Female voices. She is able to create clearly distinctive voices, so that you know who is talking, without being told, making this really easy to listen to. She does a stunning job of creating different voice effects for the characters (screaming, gulping, even growling, all that sort of stuff – which is brilliant considering she does it for Vampires and Werewolves in this book).
What was really great in part 2 was the distinction between male voices like Rowan, Dean Underwood and then Mink – Mink’s voice was just perfect, exactly how you imagine it sounding for the character he was.
Hollowell added so much to this Audiobook that it is easily so much better to listen to this as an Audiobook rather than read it, you get so much more out of it – Masterful job!!

This is an exceptional Sequel!!

I enjoyed this continuation, If Charlie thought freshman year was bad she finds that her sophomore year is something else.

What a hell of a ride!! This is a continuation of book 1. We see the journey that Charlie follows as well as Rowan. Omgeee so hard not to give out spoilers. Know that this is a hell of ride and things happen that I’m still reeling from!!

The narrator is okay. I listen to her at a faster pace of 1.75.

Oh boy!!
