What did you love best about Sons of Fortune?
This book holds a lot of twists and turns and even though you know where it is going, you are always surprised at the way Mr. Archer presents the story. He is an exceptional writer and I am slowly going through ever single one of his books.

The story was good but the flatness of the narrator's tone made listening to the story somewhat painful. A little bit of life put into the narration would make a great difference. The narrator made it boring.

A Great Story!
Although the story was not a complicated trail of characters and twisting storylines, it was just an outstanding well done story that I enjoyed from start to finish. There were enough surprises to keep you listening from chapter to chapter.
I think if you would like to listen to a very expertly written and narrated story you will love this.

The story was wonderful but the performance was horrable
The reason I didn't like the performance was the music between chapters was not Bessarabia, I don't know why they put the music in this book, I hope I never have to listen to a book read this way again!

A fun read...
I looked forward to a drive or a walk while listening to this book. Not great literature, but a fun read.

Like potato chips: enjoyable but..................
I really think Archer should stick to his side of the pond. I don't think he is able to capture American characters. I think his best book is 'Prisoner of Birth'. It is right on the edge of not believable but doesn't cross the line. This book crosses the line.
