In 1955, the Soviet Union introduced the Moscow Water Dog in a canine show to great acclaim. However, in real world situations, they fell far short of the expectations Russian cynologists had set for them, and in 1979, the Moscow Water Dog project was shut down. Supposedly the last of the breed died out in 1990, but did they?

Boris Davidof was a Soviet scientist who had worked intensely on the project and was unwilling to abandon what he’d seen as his greatest accomplishment. Long after the program was discontinued, he continued his research privately, creating an animal void of emotion and empathy and willing to execute any command given without hesitation, up to and including murder.

Each dog in the program was named Solo (Single Objective Living Organism) and given a numeric identification number. During a raid on his research facility, only one Moscow Water Dog survived without being captured. He was an eight-week-old puppy named SOLO-21, and although he was bred to be a killer, unless and until his microchip was activated...he was just a puppy.

A Very Exciting Covert Russian Dog Story

This was very different from other books written by Riano D. Mcfarland. I found it a good view of how even after the cold war ended, how some old soldiers still want to continue the experiments shut down.
Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Solo

This was another great story from this author. Get ready to listen and learn. Solo was an amazing dog. You will learn more about Solo and a bit of history about diplomacy between the U. S. and Russia. Enjoy this tale about love and loyalty. Sarah Ruth Thomas did a wonderful job narrating this fabulous story. I received this audiobook for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.

A Delightful Animal Adventure

I was delighted by this book! I went in with a bit of hesitation, as I always do with stories involving animals, but my heart was completely won over. If you're anything like me and have a soft spot for pets, rest assured—this book will fill you with joy! You’ll find yourself head over heels in love. The narrator was fantastic, and now I can’t wait to see what the author and narrator do next.

Can’t believe this is a real story, it’s fiction!

I would believe this is based off a true story. Riano D. McFarland has done it again with an awesome dog story. Sarah Ruth Thomas narrated the story wonderfully. This story is heartwarming, , believable, entertaining, unique, interesting and Quaint. It’s about a dog who overcomes many trials, he is supposed to be a killing machine, but finds out he is much more. any person who loves dogs will love this story. I did get the book for free for a honest review.

This was a very enthralling story, the characters are great, and their tale is very emotional.

The narration was easy to follow and I enjoyed listening to this story.

I Want A Moscow Water Dog!

This story is both informative and incredibly entertaining. I never even knew there was such a breed before reading this novel, but McFarland deftly made me fall for a dog that doesn't even exist anymore. The story, the characters, and the entire way the plot is woven together is magical and truly emotionally binding. Sarah Ruth Thomas truly shines in delivering this amazing story straight to the heart!

Solo - But Not for Long

Amazing story about a dog breed that I had never heard of before (had to Google it). It tells about a young woman adopting a puppy who turns out to be super intelligent and very loyal - he would protect his human, whether it meant to kill to keep her safe or to be killed saving her. The story tells of how just showing affection and kindness to dogs brings about an undying loyalty, Violent at times, sad at times, still an outstanding story. Sarah Ruth Thomas did a phenomenal job with the narration.

Loved it

This was my second story by this author but definitely not my last. I loved Solos story and what he would do to protect the ones who care for him. Heartwarming, action packed and a little romance. Will be reading/listening to more from this author.

I am totally convinced that Riano has a brilliant mind to pen this story. Anyone that loves dogs will love this one. It had great character development and plots that gave me great joy in this book.
The narrator did a wonderful job with it and she kept my attention.
