Acerca de esta escucha

Essential for armchair umpires and scorekeepers, this guide challenges aficionados on every significant part of the Official Baseball Rules.

Few sports lovers are as obsessed with rules and statistics as baseball fans. In So You Think You Know Baseball?, lifelong baseball enthusiast Peter E. Meltzer catalogues every noteworthy baseball rule from the Major League rulebook and illustrates its application with actual plays, from the historical to the contemporary. You can listen to the book from start to finish or consult it while watching a game to understand the mechanics of a play or how it should be scored. Meltzer analyzes the entire Official Baseball Rules using hundreds of Major League plays involving both plays on the field situations and plays which have involved the official scorer. This is the first book ever written that analyzes the entire rulebook in this fashion and is based on actual plays.

With Meltzer’s unique and thoroughly entertaining guide in hand, which includes a foreword by baseball rules expert Rich Marazzi, you’ll never have to scratch your head over an umpire or scorekeeper’s call again.

A good book but I would like to find a book more dedicated to the umpires. I think it's quite good book.

Good baseball book

I enjoyed listening but found that following the multiple choice questions and answers hard to keep track of with audio only. I'll look at a hard copy in a bookstore and perhaps buy it.

Hard copy would be better

Fan or player or even an umpire, all will learn something from the book. The true arbiters of the game must know and understand the rules and the intent of the rules. This great game has evolved over the years. I have enjoyed the author's approach.... it could be used as a text book for any one wanting to learn the rules.

The game of Baseball need young people to get involved in the game as umpires. The shortage of umpires is increasing each year.

Ask an umpire how to get involved.

The next step would be to get on the field with a good mentor.

Next... turn off your ears to the sounds out side the fence.

If you make a mistake. ... learn from it and get better.....

Next.... continue to be a student of the game...

A Good look into the ARBITERS book.
