The journey was violently interrupted when the ship's boilers exploded, plunging the Sultana into mayhem; passengers were bombarded with red-hot iron fragments, burned by scalding steam, and flung overboard into the churning Mississippi. Reader lacks emotion

The most detailed account of this disaster I have found. Would like to see it made into a movie. What’s James Cameron doing these days?

Not worth an audible credit

While an interesting story that I had not heard before, and the narrator was quite good, the substance of the book isn't much. It outlines personal stories of persons on the vessel that burned and sank, and gives a vivid description of the disaster, but all that could have been done in about 50 pages. The rest of the book is filler and not interesting.
