A Nice book a girl who runs away from her beatting exhusband. She fell in the Woods and get rescued by a marinemensen/bearshifter. He helps her. Nice story. The story i think can be more enthousiast be told., but iTS a great story

Ends On A Cliffhanger!!!

Please note that this story ends on s cliffhanger!!! The narrator was a little dry, but I enjoyed the audiobook immensely once I got used to his voice. I hadn't previously read this story, so it came as a shock to me as the story progressed. I'm looking forward to listening to the conclusion.

Shifter: Black Bear book one by Emerald Wright was a good quick read. Ryker and Charlene meet when Charlene is on the run from her soon to be ex husband. I loved reading about how they met and the secrets they hide. This is a good quick read.

Bears and military man all in one! Oh my...

I listened to the audible version of this book. I have to say this first book definitely has me hooked. The narrator, Steven Washington, did an excellent job in changing his voice for different characters. I will be getting the remaining books in this series..

I loved how protective he was of Charlene even thought they hadn't know each other long

If you’ve listened to books by Emerald Wright before, how does this one compare?

The narrator was ok but he could use some work on his narrating. He makes the story a little flat not horrible but in a long book it might become annoying.

Any additional comments?

While I liked the story it was short and ended on cliffhanger so I will have to get the next one to see what happens. Not a bad thing just FYI for those who hate cliffhangers

What made the experience of listening to Shifter the most enjoyable?

The story is short and sweet without a huge plot so you focus on the characters.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

OMG, the narration! I love his voice, but I would compare it to a robot voice. I can't tell whigh character is speaking, so I couldn't just lose myself in the book. I was constantly trying to determine who was speaking.

Black Bear Book one

This story has an interesting story line but the narrator does not bring the characters to life for me. I was not lost in Ryker and Charlene's story. As their tale unfolds we see the kind of people these two are and we watch their attraction grow. I did not feel the emotions and felt that the characters were one dimensional. This is only the first part of their story and ends in a cliffhanger. This is a fast paced story that begins an adventure for love.

A 2nd chance at love

Great start to this shifter romance.
Ryker is a black bear shifter working in the military. On a much needed day off he was running in the woods heading to Emerald lake. He ends up almost falling over Charlene who had hurt her ankle amd needing his help he carred her the rest of the way on the trail. On the hike he finds outs she is running from an ex. So he knew he just had to help her.

Great story it was fun. Love the characters and the build in the story. It's a really fun read. Shifter fans should enjoy this fun and fast story.

Short But Sweet

Ryker is a bear shifter who has his life planned, it's not time to take a mate. Well fate has a habit of not doing what we planned but doing it's own thing. Charlene is running and hiding from an abusive soon to be ex husband when she injures herself on a hiking trail. Fate has them meet and Ryker helps her reach her destination. Their attraction/connection is strong but it is too soon for either of them to act on it.

This is a good start to the series but it ended too soon. Want part two now!
