Sanya quickly assumes this benefactor to be the opportunity she needs to fix everything that has gone wrong in her life, planning to gain his trust and turn him against Tauwin by informing him of Tauwin's lies. But soon, she'll discover that this masked man, who's come to Kyrro with his own army, is even more dangerous than he appears.

Good story but the narration is horrible

I started this series with book one and got caught up in the story, but, I was never impressed with the narrator. As I get farther into the story the narration is getting worse and worse. The narrator pauses at inappropriate points in the sentences so it becomes difficult to follow. The story is interesting and I want to finish the series, but, I cringe while listening to the story.

If you are reading this then you’ve read the first two, so there’s no point describing how amazing the story, the plot, the lore, the character progression. So... hi 👋

Good book. bad narrator

loved the book. narrator was boring. overall not bad. Would have suggested nick Podel for the narrator

Meh

Stalling, it seems like characters just can't do enough to over come their foes. Some unbelievable parts toward the end. A bit of filler that was kinda boring.

It was too short!! I wanted more!

I love this book serious, and especially how it is narrated. it is amazing! I love Basin!

good writing but...

why do I feel like I'm listening to an anime voice over? sometimes difficult to listen to. tendency to unnecessarily draw out words for dramatic or emotional purposes, ineffectively. I want to continue series but something about his voice and tone variation is ...rather annoying

Moving forward; albeit, slowly

The story does progress but mostly like moving pieces on a slide puzzle. The whole Effy & Alex story arc did come to a poignant conclusion, as it was destined to do. Sonja's story arc is still the most interesting of all the other characters and the author has craftily positioned her between pitiable and pitiless. The whole death chamber/staff story arc was mostly uninteresting; although, there are hints that it may play a more decisive role later on.

Regrettably, I'm leaning toward not continuing with the series at this point.

unimaginative

Very predictable and lacking in creativity. Filled with unreasonable character actions, that seem to contradict established character personality.
