Resumen del Editor

Time runs short as battle rages. She holds all the cards. He must kill that witch soon or lose everything....

As Jaran and Savarna reach his island, Valkador, the witch prepares for their welcome. Sheega has new allies, including the vile trickster, Lofhi, who has a hold over their friend. Finvar has sworn to betray Jaran at the last full moon. Before that happens, they must defeat the giant Gorvaron and Sheega’s other demons. A world away war rages in Shen. Savarna’s twin Vian holds the key to save his empress and her city. But dare he unleash his dragon again? As the enemy attacks, Vian knows they can’t hold out for long. And where is Savarna when he needs her most? Torn between love and survival, Vian must make his choice else lose everything he values. Two moons must pass before our heroes dare strike the final blow. But can Jaran, Savarna and Vian survive that long?

Shadow of the White Bear is the heart-wrenching conclusion to The Berserker Trilogy. If you like impeccably incisive characters, trench-deep world-building, and brutally unrestrained combat, then you’ll love J.W. Webb’s crimson vendetta. Buy Shadow of the White Bear to stem the tide of evil today!

Excellent story

It was a very good story. The characters were well done. You never know who will be standing at the end of the tale. It’s both a good and bad thing. Good because it keeps you rooting for the likable characters. Bad because a happy ending for characters you feel for is by no means assured. The author doesn’t go completely GOT and kill off everyone. He does seem to set up a couple, walk you through their struggles, get you to like them and hope they’ll make it. Then he’ll kill the woman off and leave you thinking WTF man!?! It’s a reoccurring theme in the Ansu books. Gol & The Emerald Queen were both dissatisfying because of that. I like happy endings. It’d be nice if fantasy writers of Webb’s caliber would kill off fewer heroines. The whole series really is excellent. Just that one detail sticks in my craw. I put it in the top three of my favorite sword & sorcery series. The new narrator has done a great job too. The editors missed a few spots. Several times sentences get repeated and you can hear some throat clearing. It’s not a lot and sounds to me like the editors missed an hour or so of recording when they were going over things.

Epic conclusion to the Berserker Trilogy

I love audio books. The narration immerses me in the story, the world and the characters. No way I can skip ahead to find out what happens as I am held captive to the action and drama. A tangled tale of treachery and retribution. The threads are drawn together. This trilogy is best appreciated in order: Blood Feud, The Giant's Dance and now Shadow of the White Bear. George Ellington does an amazing work interpreting the characters. Enjoy.
