Beware the shadow of many faces, but fear the master of many places....
It’s Monday morning, and I’ve recovered a strange glyph-covered chest from a landfill. By Monday afternoon, someone’s stolen it from my warded loft.
Before I can suss out who, why, and most importantly how, I’m neck-deep with the NYPD on a murder case. A bigshot CEO is dead in his penthouse, his kidneys harvested in a way that screams black magic. Only there’s no magic in evidence.
The two crimes connect somehow, and the key may be an old explorer’s club in the heart of Manhattan. But this mage needs to get moving. More victims are turning up sans organs, and twice now I’ve found myself in a shadow realm - a darker, more dangerous version of the city, where a mysterious entity wants me dead.
And here I thought the summer’s biggest chore would be persuading my succubus cat to play nice with my wife.
Spoiler alert: She’s still Tabitha.

Love this series
Magnarella knows how to write a truly great story. Each and every character is well written. there's mystery, light romance, action and humor. the narration is unbelievable so so good I can't imagine anyone else doing this performance. I'm telling you this series is a must listen to. but I don't recommend you start here. each book introduced new characters you will love promise and Croft grows with each book. so stop reading the reviews and catch up fantastic writing along with outstanding performance you can't go wrong. seriously can't wait for more this has become my very favorite writer and narrator.

This Quite possibly may be my favorite book in the series. It had action, comedy, romance, and a wonderful surprise. Love this whole series can’t wait for the next one!! Write faster ‘Brad’!

I loved the book!
As a matter of fact, I am pretty jealous of me for reading it before the me who is a shadow of me got to read it!
Don't exactly dislike Detective Hoffman anymore. But, I don't exactly like him either.
Brad Magnarella is evolving and growing Prof Croft's world into a deeper more engaging place to spent time with mystery and magic! (And three hags...)

Return to form in the Prof Croft Series
I have to say my interest was waning in the Prof Croft series with the previous two books, but this book I think recaptured what I really liked about the earlier books in the series. The story was interesting from beginning to end with the story being resolved, but teasing what will be in the next book. Once again James Patrick Cronin turns in a great performance. If you enjoyed the previous books in the series you will enjoy this one. If you have not read the previous books in the series you will be lost at times, just start with book 1.

Rollercoaster
Holy cow that was a ride. Amazing story, artfully written and perfectly executed plots and resolution. Ending was a shock for sure. Can't wait for more.

A great addition to the overall story!
One of the things I like about these books is that they always leave you guessing. I really like how the story continues with a couple of good twists and turns yet sets up many possibilities for the future. While I’m not gonna say it was a total page turner, it certainly was enthralling enough to keep me listening to it pretty much nonstop. Looking forward to the next one in the series!
