love her attitude, and view on stuff .. narrative was good as well. GOOD JOB

Good voice, bad book.

The antagonistic attitude to compose an energy of superiority around everything the author feels positively about. You don't need to be politically involved if it's dangerous to do so in your situation. You don't need 100 specific ingredients that always align with a particular moon phase. It is irresponsible to throw disregard for the forethought and integrity of adult relationship to the wind in favor of half ass spells and tarot spreads. A tarot spread does not have the full reflection of something as nuanced as relationahip style or format. There are many problematic and unsourced statements made throught, like the act of doll making being particularly of African culture - cultures around the world have made dolls for centuries, from poppets to ancestral practices. It was also very onnoxious to feel like if the reader didn't agree, they weren't a badass witch. Like a form of gatekeeper, she writes like the head of a highschool clique who has decided that what she says goes. There is much missing here for information around sex magick, high ceremonial magick, sacred sex, and more. The "I don't want to be heteronormative, but most spells revolve around the gendered terminologies. Where is the Sacred Androgen?! Wanna read a better book? I recommend Sacred Sex by Gabriela Herstik and doing your own research!

I really did not get into this book. I didn't like the spells or the style. It definitely tends to lean more on the dark side of magic. A lot of F-bombs too - and I curse like a sailor but it's a different feeling when you're having it read to you on an audio book. Not my cup of tea.
