Lee had also convinced Pres. Jefferson Davis that his offensive would interfere with the Union effort to take Vicksburg in Mississippi.

Weird narration
While reading Dawes’ book was deeply enlightening, the performance was at times very distracting. Not really sure why that was, but it definitely lessened my enjoyment of this book.
