Acerca de esta escucha
In this riveting audiobook, an award-winning Canadian author delves into the gritty, gruesome details of the most notorious serial killers to strike the United States, Canada and the UK, including the unidentified killers who may still be on the loose.
Close to home, Parker compiles a thorough case file on husband and wife serial killers Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. In an amazing twist, hybristophilia Homolka pulls the wool over the Canadian Government, giving the crown yet another black eye.
The horror genre is tremendously indebted to serial killers. Something about their twisted psychology and abhorrent acts have turned folks like John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, David Berkowitz, and Andrei Chikatilo, to name a few, into household names and media figures.
In Serial Killer Case Files, true crime author RJ Parker offers several cases that deal with the names above and also shine a light on killers that are not as present in popular culture but whose bloody actions are worse than any horror movie out there.

There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us. These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.

In the number-one New York Times best seller Mindhunter, John Douglas, who headed the FBI's elite Investigative Support Unit, told the story of his brilliant and terrifying career tracking down some of the most heinous criminals in history. Now, in Journey into Darkness, Douglas profiles vicious serial killers, rapists, and child molesters. Historia
John Douglas once again takes us fascinatingly behind the scenes, focusing his expertise on predatory crimes, primarily against women. With a deep sense of compassion for the victims and an uncanny understanding of the perpetrators, Douglas looks at the obsessions that lead to rape, stalking, and sexual murder through such cases as Ronnie Shelton, the serial rapist who terrorized Cleveland; and New York's notorious "Preppie Murder". But Douglas also looks at obsession on the other side of the moral spectrum: his own career-long obsession with hunting these predators.

In this fascinating, in-depth account of the hunt for serial killers, Colin Wilson, one of the world's leading authorities on the subject, examines the ways they can be tracked down and caught, from the tried-and-true methods of the early 20th century to the high-tech processes in use today. Wilson examines such areas as psychological profiling, genetic fingerprinting, and the launch of the Behavioral Science Unit. He delves into the importance of fantasy to serial killers, the urge to keep on killing, the desire to become notorious, and murder as an addictive drug.

another good book from RJ Parker
Would you consider the audio edition of Serial Killers Case Files to be better than the print version?
I prefer the audio to the print edition. This was the first audio book ever. Liked the audio book because I can get something done around the house while listening to it.
What about Don Kline’s performance did you like?
Great sound and talked clear enough to understand
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Very Informative, and surprisingly entertaining.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, I recommended it to my wife. She really likes this genre on TV, so I thought she would find it interesting and informative.
What other book might you compare Serial Killers Case Files to and why?
Not sure I could compare this book to any other book. Most other books I read that are like this one seem to drone on and on, whereas this book seemed to fly from chapter to chapter. Yet, somehow, the information it relayed was fairly easy to retain.
Which character – as performed by Don Kline – was your favorite?
Sorry, I didn't have a favorite character. I did find it interesting to know that Lizzie Borden was never convicted, and lived out her life with her sister after the case was settled.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably not, but that is not a negative in regards to this book. I don't watch a lot of movies outside my home. Now, If it were a movie I could watch from home, (DVD, Netflix, On Demand) then I would definitely consider sitting down with my wife and watching it.

Straight Facts of Serial Lillers
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Anyone interested in a collection of facts about Serial Killers this is worth a listen
What other book might you compare Serial Killers Case Files to and why?
Serial Killer Anthology because it is a collection of other True Crime writers along with RJ Parker
What about Don Kline’s performance did you like?
His performance was very appropriate for the context being somewhat clinical and fact driven. Impressed with his ability to pull off the foreign names
If you could give Serial Killers Case Files a new subtitle, what would it be?
Encyclopedia of Death Serial Killers
Any additional comments?
Just the facts kind of True Crime writing, some books give you a bunch of fluff and human despair. This True Crime book gives you just the plain facts and a starting point if you want to research further for many cases explained in this book.

Horrid Quality
What would have made Serial Killers Case Files better?
A good editor and reader
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The subject and info is interesting, if you can follow it with this reader
Any additional comments?
Bad writing with incorrect English, and a reader who paused mid sentence.... Sounds done with a sentence, then adds on a few more words. Mumbles sometimes and clearly leaves words out. It gets worse as the book goes on. Found out its self published. Tried to leave a message on the site, but even it doesn't work right. Nothing happens when the submit button is clicked. This book would need good editing and a good reader to really be any good.
