New Strategies and Plans for Separation Anxiety
It has now been six years since the release of Malena DeMartini-Price's best selling first book, Treating Separation Anxiety in Dogs. Not one to rest on her laurels, Malena has been busy teaching and mentoring dog trainers worldwide to become Certified Separation Anxiety Trainers (CSAT). Working in collaboration with a large network of trainers to collect data and conduct research, new strategies have been developed on many of the key elements of treating separation anxiety. Now, in a completely new book, Malena share these strategies for the use of current technologies, no absence management, and improved desensitization techniques. Any trainer or guardian dealing with separation anxiety will find this book a valued resource.

Dogs? No Problem! People? Yikes!! Most dog trainers have a strong desire to help dogs learn appropriate behaviors and solve the kinds of problems that most dogs experience or create. It is why they get into the business in the first place and it is what they are trained to do. What is challenging for so many trainers is that their success in working with dogs ultimately depends on the cooperation, understanding and follow-through of the people who bring their dogs to them to be trained. Failure to work with people often leads to failure with the dogs.

Reseñas de la Crítica
"Malena's first book on separation anxiety was a game changer, but her newest book, 6 years later, is even better: it is packed with new information, new insights about the principles involved, and backed by solid data. To quote from the final sentence in her book, "...separation anxiety is fixable..." and Malena brilliantly demonstrates how!" - Ken Ramirez, author of The Eye of the Trainer: Animal Training, Transformation, and Trust. Executive VP & Chief Training Officer for Karen Pryor Clicker Training
"Clear, compassionate, data-driven advice about what actually works and what doesnt. A welcome and indispensable resource Ill use often with my own clients." - Kathy Sdao, M.A., author of Plenty in Life is Free: Reflections on Dogs, Training & Finding Grace. Owner of Bright Spot Dog Training
"Rock-solid information on treating this challenging condition, including a superb section on shelter dogs." - Jean Donaldson, author of The Culture Clash. Founder and Director of The Academy for Dog Trainers

The author did a stellar job of conveying her valuable message. The facts were well laid out, followed by a confirming study, illustration or other supporting material, Although I believe it best serves a trainer, it is written in a way that makes it easy for all to read and follow. For those dogs who suffer with separation anxiety and/or confinement anxiety (which can go hand in hand) and their owners who are at a loss as to how to help them, this is the book to read.
Wish I’d had this book years ago.
