When Parker Avery takes Olivia Nelson's case, it sends her, Kay, and Iris to Nelspruit in search of a missing watch, but as they soon find out, the watch is more than a sentimental possession. It is an efficient device used to disarm large safes and assist in burglaries, and Olivia Nelson isn't the only one after it. The Avery Detective Agency finds themselves in conflict with a local group of criminals who want the watch just as much as they do, and in the midst of chaos, they are at risk of more than just losing a case.

When Parker Avery asks Iris Falloney to assist on a murder case in Kansas, she is ecstatic, but upon meeting Cam Harris, a local police detective working on the same case, personalities clash. Will sparks fly as they resolve their subtle differences to get through the case?

Detective Avery series

This story was enjoyable but I felt confused at times since the voices for different people were so similar in my opinion. Overall the story was good and I can see it has potential in the future.

It's a short story that would keep you interested. The narration by Kris Szczesny is a great listen. Parker, Kay and Iris in a foreign country, a lost watch, a case of mistaken identity, robbery and murder! What is so special about that watch? Why did the criminals follow them back to the states? What did the criminals want with Iris? Another adventurous short story that is interesting! Good story.

I really enjoyed the story although it was a bit predictable. I lost interest in this series at the second book when they went to South Africa. I live in Nelspruit, at first I was really excited to hear my hometown in a book I did not expect it to be, but there really was no attempt to do research on where the story plays out. I lost conplete interest when the writer referred to the Kruger National Park as a zoo. I get this is fictional but I feel like the setting of a story can still be based on facts.

Great series all in one place

This audio book was a bit slow to start but then it took off. Listened to this series in two days. I enjoyed the narrator even though I really didn't like one of the character voices. That just made the listening that much more intriguing. The character development through the series was positive and engrossing. It flows well from one novel to the next and has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I would suggest the read just for the progression of Parker and Kay's relationship. Once again Nicole has created a winner and Kris did an excellent job of bringing it to life.

a great compilation

This is a great way to read the Avery detective stories, all together in one place. I enjoyed going from one to the next, following Parker Avery as she solved mysteries.

In Sentiment to the Heart, Kay Walker's grandfather loses something precious to him Kay hires Parker to help find it. The banter between these two ladies adds to the story. But they must work together to find the answers.

In Trusting Heart, Kay and Parker work closely together to take Olivia's case. But a twist in the story has led them down the wrong path and they must rethink everything. I liked this story the best because of the fun twist and suspense involved with it.

In Heart's Content, Iris helps Parker work on a case. The local police detective is not so willing to help. The clashing of the personalities brings depth to the story as they try to solve this case. But maybe, opposites will attract and things will work out.

Kris Szczesny narrates this compilation. This is my first listen to Kris and I enjoyed it. Kris kept the characters voices distinct and easy to follow. She was able to bring out all the different personalities and enhanced the characters. Her male voice was smooth and not forced. I look forward to hearing more from her.

Fantastic Book

This was a great book to listen to! I enjoyed the twists, just when I thought I had figured out the mystery there was a new twist.

I recieved these books free from the author for an honest review. the first book was a bit predictable, but the writing greatly improved in the second and third books. I would say the 3rd is my favorite. especially because it really kept me guessing right up until the end.

Quick, enjoyable stories

Kris Szczesny does good at giving each character a distinguishable voice.

The characters are easy to get attached to. My favorite is Iris! These mysteries are quick listens, but still enjoyable. I found myself wishing for more to the story as each one ended.
