Voz Virtual es una narración generada por computadora para audiolibros..
Romaine Wilder, big-city medical examiner with a small-town past, has been downsized and evicted. With few other options, she’s forced to return to her hometown of Roble in East Texas, leaving behind the man she’s dating and the life she’s worked hard to build.

Suzanne Babet Derbinay, Romaine’s Auntie Zanne and proprietor of the Ball Funeral Home, has long since traded her French Creole upbringing for Big Texas attitude. She’s a member in a number of ladies’ auxiliaries and clubs, including being in charge of the Tri-County Annual Crawfish Boil and Music Festival.

Hanging on to the magic of her Louisiana roots, she’s cooked up a love potion or two—if she could only get Romaine to drink it. But her plans are derailed when the Ball Funeral Home, bursting at the seams with dead bodies, has a squatter stiff.

Dead Guy is a problem.

Auntie Zanne can’t abide by a murderer using her funeral home as the dumping grounds for their crimes, and Romaine doesn’t want her newly elected cousin, Sheriff Pogue Folsom, to fail on his first murder case. Together, Romaine and Auntie Zanne set off to solve it.

With a dash of humor, a dollop of Southern charm, and a peek at current social issues in the mix, it’s a fun romp around East Texas to solve a murder mystery of the cozy kind.

It's a good story but the AI narration is awful. It just reads the book. Boring!!! It takes away from the book. No Accents, voice inflections or anything. This book is good if you can deal with AI narrator. The narrators are supposed to bring the books to life! Audible's decision to use AI is a very bad one!!!....My opinion. AI has nothing on human narrators. I hope Ms. Vandiver has this book narrated again by a human narrator who can bring her book to life the way it deserves.

AI narration sucks!!!

I didn't care for AI narration. Stories are more realistic sounding with human narrator voice intonation. Also aunt was a bit troubling as character.

Good story

HATED THE AUTOMATED READER!!! Feel sorry for the author. The story was the only reason I finished the book. Shame on Audible!

Loved the book!

The storyline was good. The automated voice was terrible. Ruined a perfectly good story. Please stop using the automated voice!

The automated voice

The virtual voice was just awful! It sound like an elementary school kid trying to read. There were mispronounce words and the pausing sound like they didn’t understand the punctuation marks.

I may have underrated the story because the reading was so bad. If I had to pay for this one, I would probably return it. So it’s really sad that it was a freebie and I couldn’t even give it a decent rating because of the virtual voice. I will never listen to anything more virtual voice again without checking the preview to see if I can stand it.

Worst performance ever!

The story was good, but the AI narration made it almost impossible to pay attention to the story. All the inflections and emphases were wrong. Ruined the book for me .

Hate virtual voice!

This story is very engaging! I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, the virtual voice almost ruins it! I cannot understand why an author would give a huge effort toward telling this creative story and then someone chooses a virtual voice! That’s an insult to the time and the work invested into the book! Especially when a character’s voice is described as having a drawl! The listener should be hearing that drawl performed by the narrator! Additionally, one of the main characters in the story is called Babet but the voice calls her Bābet (the “A”sound as in babe!) It took me a while to realize this was a mispronunciation and probably should have sounded more like a short “A” as in baboon. It’s so disappointing that this important character’s name is just not important to the narrator, because she’s not real!

Virtual Voice….Very Real Disaster!
