Black Girl Fantasy is a Vibe!

Imaginarium Book Con here I come! I am trying to get through my list of fantasy books in preparation for an upcoming fantasy book con. I'm so glad I tried this author 1st. This story was fast paced, had dragons, hot smex, and magic. The narrators really brought these characters to life. This book was too short, and I wanted so much more. So glad the series continues with a new couple. I am so here for it.

Distracting narration

Enjoyable story but I found the male narrator choppy and strange. Hard to stay invested. It helped to increase the speed to 1.35

Narrators can make or break a story

The guy narrator is so choppy and emotionless. The lady narrator wasn’t much better but there was some effort in her delivery. The guy tho, u can really tell it was his first time reading the book. Sentences didn’t flow, no emotion, it almost sounds like he’s reading with his finger. At a certain point I had to stop and just buy a hard copy. I couldn’t take it. Also maybe it’s just me but it’s super cringe to hear pages turning. I don’t wanna know ur in a booth reading when ur supposed to be protecting the princess.

Now the PLOT however is everything. I’m super curious about where the story will go next I love the representation. Describing them as “bland and blond” had me in tears. Definitely in love with this story and the world and excited to dive into this author a bit more.
