There is only so much one person can take…
Tanya Hammond is a good wife, giving everything she has to her husband, a demanding, unpleasable soul. Fixated on the almighty dollar, Rory Hammond systematically shuts his wife out, withdrawing all of his attention and forcing Tanya into the darkness, a situation she eventually just could not tolerate.
Rory’s sister, Naomi, was brought into their lives intentionally as a distraction. A sensitive, sensual and responsive (and downright irresistible) being, Tanya soon finds herself intrigued by her every move. Unbeknownst to Tanya, she may have played right into Naomi’s hands in the ultimate game of love and lust.
What happens when Rory discovers the relationship between his wife and his beloved sister? Sometimes the meek really do inherit the earth…

This book needs to include a trigger warning! I have not experienced the traumatic events (both on-going and sudden) that were depicted in this book, but I was made uncomfortable, even knowing the need for trials and challenges in fiction. However, from what I know of friends and relations who have experienced such things... They would not be able to finish this book. Additionally, although the writing Quality overall is good, the book (and audiobook) is shorter than a standard novel, as such it suffers from the need to establish the world/setting, characters, situations, trials, and resolutions in a smaller span of time. Sadly, this book gets bogged down with minutia both at the beginning and near the end, some of which could have been completely eliminated. In a longer book format, such things might be seen as establishing details, but as mentioned, within this shorter framework, they take up room and as such other areas of the book which deserved more attention got sacrificed in order to fit. In my opinion, I found the conflict resolution and ending to be extremely short and rushed by drastic shifts in several charcters' personalities in the span of minutes that were so extreme /reversed, that to me they seemed completely unbelievable. A key scene that could have gone several different ways, was instead depicted as easy as a casual stroll in the park. While it is the author's prerogative to have their story take the path that they wish for it to of course, that one scene broke me completely out of the story as my mind was screaming "There's no way it would happen that easily in real life."
